Meishan refers to the Xiaoxiang Meishan area centered around Xinhua, Yiyang, Loudi, Xinshao, and Lengshuijiang. It is a folk mage bloodline formed by the combination of primitive witchcraft and Taoist skills.
The influence of Meishan Method is widespread, like the seven sages of Meishan depicted in "Investiture of the Gods," who were an ape, pig, ox, dog, goat, snake, and centipede that became spirits and later followed Erlang Shen.
It encompasses both the Yang (positive) and Yin (negative) techniques, amongst which the most famous is the sealing technique of water, including healing, warding off evil, disaster relief, subduing wild spirits, performing, self-defense, resistance to beating, attacks, magic duels, collecting souls, and summoning spirits, and those proficient in it are known as Meishan Navy. The locals also call them Master.
Being a minority ethnic region in the Xiaoxiang area as well, Long Qiu had heard some rumors when she learned Gu with her grandmother.
