Chapter 380 - Chapter 16 Then Go Together

For the Spirit Beast Egg from the south (Updated on 4.30)

The man paused.

"Old Feng, we're discussing the feasibility of this medical matter, don't bring up trust, ideals, or passion," he shook his head and said, "all of that is nonsense."

Doctor Feng laughed loudly.

"Doctor Liu, you are right," he stopped laughing and put down his teacup, his expression becoming serious, "what I'm talking about is feasibility, and I believe that if something goes wrong, she will protect us."

Doctor Liu frowned.

"That depends on whether she can protect us," he said.

"Since she asked us for help, I believe she definitely can protect us," Doctor Feng said, "otherwise, she wouldn't have spoken so confidently. I'm not lying to you, I even taught her how to deceive you all, but she refused."

Having said this, he repeated the conversation they had earlier, leaving Doctor Liu with a look of astonishment and helplessness.

"You, you," he pointed at Doctor Feng, finally saying nothing.

"Moreover, I trust her medical skills," Doctor Feng stated, his face lighting up with a certain radiance, "Doctor Liu, that's smallpox, don't you want to be remembered in the history books for controlling it?"

Doctor Liu couldn't help but smile.

"Old Feng, who wouldn't want that," he said, "but the key question is, can this really be achieved just by wishing for it?"

"I believe she can achieve it," Doctor Feng immediately replied, his expression becoming earnest and slightly excited, "I believe she will do as she says."

Before Doctor Liu could say anything, he continued.

"Think about it, since coming to the capital, has she not followed through on her words? She said she could cure diseases we couldn't, and has there ever been anything she couldn't do? She said she wants to heal thousands with the help of hundreds of doctors, has she ever held back in teaching us? And isn't her teaching always precise and indisputable?"

He reached out and took Doctor Liu's hand.

"Doctor Liu, she now dares to say she can cure smallpox, so she definitely can. Do you believe her?"

Doctor Liu looked at him, feeling the hand being held tremble slightly, unsure whether it was Old Feng's excitement or his own.

"I believe," he finally said.

Doctor Feng lifted his hand and patted his arm, laughing loudly as he stood up.

"I knew it, you old chap are really spirited," he said, "see you tomorrow."

With that, he turned and walked away.

Doctor Liu quickly stood up.

"Let me walk you out," he said, but Doctor Feng had already picked up his lantern and moved towards the door.

The chilly night wind made both men stepping out from the house shrug their shoulders.

Doctor Liu watched as Doctor Feng walked towards the other side of the street.

"Hey, Old Feng, your home isn't that way," he called out hurriedly, wondering if the old man was so excited he was confused.

Doctor Feng turned around with his lantern, smiling.

"I'm making a few more stops," he said.

Making a few more stops?...

Doctor Liu hesitated, watching as Doctor Feng walked away into the deep night.

The deep, cool night seemed eerily mysterious with only one lantern moving steadily in the dark.

Standing at the doorway, Doctor Liu felt waves of cold and heat, and suddenly he stamped his foot.

"Old Feng, wait for me," he shouted, turning to grab a lantern and chasing after him into the dimly lit street.

Two lanterns floated through the dark street.

Time passed, and the two lanterns became three, then four, gradually illuminating the silent deep night of the capital as the dawn broke.

Miss Jun woke up on time, practiced her wooden stake routine as usual, and then took her meal and medical box, and with Liu'er, walked outside.

Fang Jinxiu was already waiting in the front hall.

"Whatever needs to be said, say it," she said, "we can manage the manpower, and Manager Liu is already prepared."

Miss Jun looked at her.

"Remember to have Manager Liu send people to look for the things I need," she said.

These were the things Miss Jun had instructed her to do the previous night, all written down on a piece of paper.

Fang Jinxiu nodded and opened the door for them.

"There's nothing money can't buy, it's just a few doctors," she paused and said.

Miss Jun laughed.

"Exactly," she said, stepping out the door, but the next moment she stopped.

Liu'er, carrying a medical box, was blocked and looked puzzled.

"Miss?" she inquired.

What's wrong?

Fang Jinxiu furrowed her brow, peering out over Miss Jun's shoulder and paused in surprise.

Outside, at some moment, more than a dozen people had gathered, old and young, of differing appearances and attire, but the one thing they had in common was a medical box on their back. Seeing the door open and Miss Jun standing in the doorway, all of these people smiled and stepped forward.

"Miss Jun, can we go now?" The leading Doctor Feng said.

Tears welled up in Fang Jinxiu's eyes, blurring her vision.

They

actually

came

Miss Jun stepped forward, not saying a word but bowing respectfully towards the doctors.

The doctors hurriedly returned the gesture.

With no words, no explanations, and no superfluous movements, these simple bows created a quiet that settled in front of Jiuling Hall.

This silence, in the late winter, seemed particularly solemn.

"Alright, let's go," Miss Jun said, looking at the carriage parked beside them.

She hadn't expected so many doctors to come, so only one carriage had been prepared.

Surely she couldn't ride while the other doctors walked.

Her hesitation was noticed by the doctors.

"Miss Jun, you should get in the carriage," Doctor Feng said, "as a young lady, you should be the one riding."

The other doctors laughed and nodded, urging her on.

Just then, a loud noise of carriages and horses approached, accompanied by Manager Liu's voice.

"Here they come," he called loudly, "all the carriages are ready."

Seeing the approaching dozen carriages, the doctors were both surprised and amused.

"It seems Miss Jun knew we would come," one doctor said, "the carriages are ready, if we had been later, they might have come to our homes to pick us up."

"It would have been better to be a bit late, I could have enjoyed a warm bowl of rice at home," another doctor joked.

Everyone present laughed.

"Yes, there's plenty of rice; Manager Chen from the Guanghua Temple has arranged everything with the people from the Five Cities Military Department, accommodations, meals, everything is in place," Fang Jinxiu said loudly, "come along together, there's wine, meat, whatever you need."

As long as you all come together, you can have whatever you want.

This statement was bold, and Fang Jinxiu hadn't spoken in such a way for a long time, no longer being the Third Miss of the Fang Family.

But now, in this moment, she, Fang Jinxiu, wanted to speak that way, and dared to speak in such a manner.
