Li Yao wanted to say that there was a problem.
Maybe because he had awakened too many memories of the past, he felt that something was not right. A sense of danger enveloped him like a mist.
Right then, a shrill alarm echoed in the storm outside the building. It did not die down until almost a minute later.
Very soon, an Awakener came in and reported the bad news to everybody. Because of the heavy rain, the reservoir in the upper reaches of the city was far higher than the alert level. A dam had collapsed. It wouldn't be long before the city was flooded.
Li Yao swallowed his words.
Desperate times called for desperate measures. They had no other options. The sooner they left the continent, the better.
Li Yao did not sleep well that night.
All kinds of weird hallucinations were popping up and hovering in his eyes and mind like annoying flies.
