Chapter 1 - Chapter 01-How did we get here?

He silently stared at the doctor and the maids tending to him.

As the Physician of the House, having navigated through his entire body

To find the cause of his sudden illness, He lay there to think of what to do.

But the man standing before him did not move at all. Instead, he prescribed some light medicines for him.

Seeing those weary eyes that had seen all the illness and bitter endings of life, only one thought crossed his mind.

'Damn, i'm fucked'

This man was Reiner van Remes. The eldest son of the Remes Household.

Just where did it all go wrong?

Up until yesterday, all I had to worry about was completing the company project. I was buried deep into the work with no end.

Finally, exhaustion took over me.

I bent back into my office chair, my head felt unusually dizzy, and I passed out.

Only to wake up as Reiner Remes.

I have possessed a character of the Novel that I was reading and what's worse is that he is the middle boss.

I have possessed the worst character in the worst possible time.

He is not even the main villain.

A character made with the sole purpose of inciting the story more and more.

He was only a villain in name. In reality, he is weak as hell.

The Remes household is known for their exceptional sword techniques and for producing the best prodigies the empire has ever seen.

Its Patriarch Duke Aden von Remes is a 11 star Swordsmaster.who is hailed as one of the 5 Strongest people on the Empire.

This also puts the Remes Household as one of the Strongest Five Ducals in the Empire.

But there is a Huge Problem,Reiner Remes is only the middle boss of the story that i was reading.

It was the last book I read, and now I possessed Reiner Remes.

It was a story about the end of his life, where he ruled like a king with a strong family behind him.

I felt like the god of fate was mocking me.

I searched all around the room, trying to find something to asses the situation before me. But it was all in vain.

I eventually mustered up the courage to look into the mirror, a Character that I had only read through the Novel "The Sword of Walpurgis" .its middle boss Reiner Remes was right in front of me.

He was me.

There was one distinct feature that I still remember from the novel, the main character used a game-like mechanism to measure and improve his ability. i knew it was dumb but it was still worth a shot.

I tried looking everywhere for clue but right when I looked into the corner of my eyes. A glass-like panel appeared before me.

My brain felt a sudden dizziness, and I felt like it was about to explode, but I calmed down anyway.

[ Name: Reiner Remes ] Gender: Male Age: 16 Grade 2 Race: Human Achievements: None Stamina 4 Strength 8 Intelligence 7 Dexterity 7 Willpower 9 Luck 10 Combat Ability Details〉〉 Magic Ability Details〉〉

It was an information window that was all too familiar to me, who had read 'The Sword of Walpurgis' 5 times.

Just from looking at this, it was clear how weak a Character Reiner was.

The average Strength of a student in Walpurgis is at least a 15, not to mention the main character Claire having a whopping 32 just on Strength.

This only shows he is truly a miserable figure.

Still, his talent, willpower are not bad, but they are not exceptional either.

With barely this type of talent, if he opened his mouth around other main characters, he would get obliterated.

Reiner Remes was only a character who was introduced into the novel to incite up the Story even more, since he had no other role, he was quickly forgotten by everyone.

This is because Reiner Remes, who led an arrogant life using the strong support of the Remes family as a shield, was not me.

I had no choice, not knowing what to do.

Soon, I received a letter from the Family Head of the Remes Family telling me to go attend the Walpurgis Academy, which is one of the most prestigious academies where children of every single family gather to learn the way of the sword as well as magic.

The only reason I am panicking about going is because of Reiner's Past.

When he was a kid, he was stronger than others, way stronger than the typical children of the other families, and because of this, he used to beat up other kids whenever he got the chance.

This got so bad that in the story he even beat up the grandson of the imperial branch family, because of this incident, he was sentenced to five years in isolation training.

Now, this would be good if he remained strong, but the problem is that later in the story, the kids of the other household become so strong that they dominate him and beat him up in the academy.

That is why he was only a Middle Boss in the academy.

Now I am Reiner Remes, and I have to get my act together if I want to survive in this world.

After gathering all the information I remembered about the Novel there were still some vague parts.

One would surely guess that a person would remember what they had read but that was not the case for me.

'Why do you think I read it 5 times?'

It wasn't because it was that interesting, it was just because halfway up the way in the story I had forgotten what had happened in the first half.

I let out another deep sigh.

Even though Reiner may be the one who threw his life into the gutter right now, he is treated with respect as a noble.

Now I have to admit it.

Now I had exactly a month to prepare for the academy, so I called my butler and made him arrange a training ground.

"Pardon, sir... A- Trai- Training Ground?"

"Yes, make it fast, I don't have enough time."

I guess he was shocked, as the real Reiner Remes would never train; he was an egoist who always thought he was stronger than everyone around him.

Soon Castus, my Butler showed me the way to the training ground. This was an exclusive training ground just meant for direct descendants of the house.

Before closing the door behind me, I made an astonishing request to Castus.

"Get me some Mana Pills by the end of the Week."

The room fell silent for a moment.

"..."

"I don't know what you are talking about, young master"

In the original Novel, Castus was not just Reiner's Butler, he was also a 7-star Swordsmaster with close ties with the magic tower, and he was directly appointed by Aden von Remes, Reiner's Father, to keep a close eye on him.

Mana Pills could be used to accelerate one's growth, although it is legal, its use is highly dangerous and can cause mana deflux if not used properly.

I stopped talking and looked Castus in the eye for a couple of seconds.

"..."

"Make sure to get me some by the end of the week."

I closed the door in front of me and went straight to the room.

In the original novel, Aden von Remes was very much aware of his son's crimes but did nothing to stop them, even Castus did nothing to stop him but why?

Why not stop his son from certain doom?

It was all because of his Brother, The Second Son of Remes' Household - Ronan Remes.

Despite being Reiner's brother, he hates him to the core.

I read that Ronan became the next Family head after Reiner was killed.

But there was no point in thinking about it now; all I had to prioritize was Reiner's survival, and this training was the ultimate point in achieving it.
