Chapter 1 - Most wanted love

Nate, one of the most wanted criminals in Seoul, South Korea, had been lying low in an alleyway, his hideout. He'd been hiding for days, but today, something felt different. Karina, one of the best policewomen, had been tirelessly hunting him down. She had been following every lead, and when she saw the news of Nate's latest exploits, she knew today would be the day.

Karina had just finished a break with her colleagues Giselle, Winter, and Ning Ning, who had been resting in the car. But as soon as she stepped out, her sharp eyes locked onto a shadowed figure in the alley. It was Nate.

"Well, if it isn't policewoman Karina come to get me," Nate thought to himself, smirking. But Karina was not about to let him slip away. She pulled out her gun and pointed it directly at his head.

"Don't think you can talk your way out of this, Nate. You killed my father," Karina said, her voice steady, but there was a hint of pain in her eyes.

Nate chuckled darkly. "You really think I killed your father? This isn't the right place for an arrest. But don't blame me if you get hurt."

Karina stood firm, unwavering. "Give me your gun," she demanded.

Before Nate could respond, the gang war erupted. The Kanji gang and the Manji gang started shooting at each other, chaos breaking out all around them. Nate dove towards the Manji gang, raising his hands to stop the bloodshed.

"Why did you guys start randomly fighting without telling me?" Nate yelled, trying to regain control. But there was no time to argue further.

"Karina, get in my car. We need to talk somewhere private," Nate said, his tone serious.

Karina hesitated but followed, the weight of everything she had learned weighing on her mind. As they drove, Nate finally spoke up.

"I didn't kill your father," he said. His voice was calm but firm.

Karina turned to him, her heart pounding. "So you expect me to believe you didn't kill him?" she asked, her voice shaky.

"Do you believe it? Why would I kill your father? Look at this," Nate pulled out a photo from his jacket pocket, showing Karina and her father laughing together at a party. "Me and him were friends."

Karina froze, the photo in her hand. Her mind was racing. She was a police officer, trained to observe and analyze. She thought harder. "Who else could have hidden the evidence and framed you other than the police themselves?"

Nate watched her, his face a mask of calm. "Exactly. Think about it. The evidence was hidden for a reason, and it wasn't me who did it."

Karina, her mind in turmoil, looked at him. "Why didn't you say this sooner?"

Nate sighed. "Because I had to survive, Karina. But now, I'm done running."

They arrived at a secluded house, the tension still thick in the air. But before they could talk more, the police burst in, seizing Karina. They strapped her into a chair, demanding answers.

"How do you know we killed your father? Who told you?" one of the officers spat at her.

The slap came quick and sharp. Karina winced, but her resolve didn't waver.

Nate watched from the shadows. It was now or never. In a flash, he jumped into action, disarming the officers and breaking Karina free from the chair.

"Are you alright, Karina? Nice to see you again," Nate said, his eyes filled with determination.

Karina barely had time to process the moment before Nate shoved her out the door. "Stay safe!" he shouted as he locked it behind him.

The sound of gunfire filled the air as Nate began taking down the officers one by one. Karina watched through the window, helpless, as Nate faced them alone.

Nate was pinned down, gunshots ringing in the air. "There's only one way to end this," he muttered, his eyes steely. He glanced at the building, then at the officers. Without a second thought, he made his move. The explosion rocked the building, flames bursting from the windows as Nate leapt out, his body flying through the air.

The next thing Karina knew, she was standing by his hospital bed. Nate was unconscious, the doctors warning her he might be in a coma for a day or two. And when he woke up, he might not even remember her.

Two days passed, and Karina stood by his side, her heart heavy. Then, as if nothing had happened, Nate stirred.

"Who are you?" he asked, his voice soft, but confused.

Karina gasped, her breath caught in her throat. "Nate, it's me, Karina."

He blinked, then a mischievous grin appeared on his face. "You always were a baby," he joked, his hand reaching out to pull her close. "Just kidding. Of course, I remember you."

Before Karina could respond, Nate leaned in, kissing her gently on the lips. "I love you," he whispered. As he pulled back, he held out a small box, opening it to reveal a stunning ring.

"Will you marry me?" he asked, his eyes shining with love. "Will you be my wife?"

Karina's heart skipped a beat. In that moment, nothing else mattered. Despite everything, despite the pain, the danger, and the confusion, she knew the answer.

"Yes," she whispered, a tear slipping down her cheek. "Yes, I'll marry you."

Nate smiled, placing the ring on her finger. For the first time in a long time, everything felt right.
