Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

AHHH IT'S SO BRIGHT!

MY EYES!

IT HURTS!

The nightmares of treacherous nights and days quickly shatter. A clueless Kuro Yamakage screams in pain as a white flash covers his sight, blinding him. No kind of darkness can dim this bright light he is seeing.

Sh*t, In this condition, Kuro Yamakage is restricted from his movement as his attempts to move around or close his eyelids failed. All he could do was stop and watch.

What kind of phenomenon can emit a light this bright? Am I dying… No, impossible. There was no way my curse could be lifted. The light began to die down as a scene unfamiliar to Kuro unfolded.

Muffled sounds became clearer as the first thing that Kuro was able to hear was, "Congratulations, you both got a healthy boy"

The sound came from a man who looked no older than 30 wearing some sort of white cloth foreign to Kuro.

Another voice spoke out but it was more feminine than the other one, "May I hold him, doctor?"

"Yes, you may" The doctor who was holding a cradled-up Kuro handed him to the woman with such care.

I'm a baby now! I was just born! WHY? HOW? As much as Kuro wanted to speak, he could only muster up a cry.

"He's adorable isn't he," Said the woman. Her face was gentle just like everything else, the hair nicely brushed.

On the left of the woman stood a tall (5'11") average build man, wearing cotton clothes and a style unknown to Kuro. His blonde hair was slicked back being held by a hair tie while a few strands of hair hung off giving him a badass look. The addition of black eyes helps enhance the look even further.

These two seemed to be my parents, calling them mother and father would be fair.

"He sure is. Can we name him Optimus?" The man had a puppy expression on his face while on his knees begging as if his life was on the line.

"No, we are not naming our son Optimus Prime!" The mother exclaimed.

A saddened look appeared as he began to softly cry to himself, "Why not?"

"It's so childish, you know"

"But what else sounds good with Prime"

"Hmmm" The mother was waving around the baby as she was thinking of a name for the newborn.

Kuro Prime doesn't sound bad, but it doesn't have a good ring to it.

A "AHA" was exclaimed by the mother, signaling that she had come up with a name.

"We should name him Korvus."

"Korvus Prime doesn't sound too bad." A light and happy image was painted on his face. The old clueless Kuro Yamakage is replaced with an intimidating Korvus Prime.

I must agree, Korvus isn't too shabby. It makes me feel like a king, hehe.

Korvus's attention has now drifted towards the surroundings covering him.

What is that? What kind of technology is this? Is this what people call sorcery?

His eyes were focused on the big box of machinery which is mounted on the wall with a flat-screen reading many different numbers, graphs, and statistics.

Is that even wood? What is the material on the walls?

He analyzed every square inch he could see, everything seemed so alien to him. He had finally speculated that he was transported into the future.

This must be the future of Earth, it looks so amazing!

Unbeknownst to Korvus, a blue screen had appeared above his head. Neither the parents nor the doctor noticed the strange phenomenon. What was written on it showed, "Welcome, Player 1"

Since Korvus's birth, a few weeks had passed, during which he would usually wander around their home, trying to twiddle and tinker with every bit of technology he could grasp. He and his family would occasionally adventure outdoors to buy groceries and clothes and check out the world.

My parents, Audrey Prime and Willaim Prime, seemed to be great people. My mother is a sweet, loving, kind-hearted person. My father is a happy, funny, and caring guy, though being in an adult body, his mind seems to make him regress to a child sometimes. This feeling of love from them is something I have not had in a while, and I will do anything to protect them!

As amazing as all this is, one thing I wouldn't get used to is seeing an abundance of people in one city. Back in my world or life (if I had really been transported into the future), the biggest cities and nations consisted of thousands of people, whereas a hundred thousand is just a fraction of this city. How were we able to populate this many people? I feel like I shouldn't be thinking about that.

Well, actually, there is another thing I wouldn't get used to. And it's the ability of us humans to conduct such sorcery. For context, I was looking through the glass or 'window' while my father was training. I saw him fully manipulate water. And I am not that gullible to believe that is achievable through technological means. So I must find what it actually is.

I need to learn more about this world.
