Chereads / The Seven Legendary Swords / Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

Yukimura leads you to a small, secluded cottage nestled in the mountainside. The cottage is simple but well-kept, with a thatched roof and sturdy wooden walls. A small garden sits in front, filled with herbs and vegetables that sway gently in the night breeze. Yukimura opens the door, ushering you inside. The interior is warm and inviting, with a fireplace crackling merrily in the corner. Shelves line the walls, filled with books and scrolls detailing the history and lore of the legendary swords. Yukimura lights a few candles, casting a soft glow over the room. He motions for you to sit at a small table, taking a seat across from you. "This will be your new home, Takeshi," he says softly. "It's not much, but it will provide us with a safe place to train and plan our next moves against Evolt." You nod, looking around the cottage with a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

As you settle into your new home, Yukimura begins to teach you the ways of the Blade Guardian. Each day, you rise before dawn to begin your training. Yukimura instructs you in the art of swordsmanship, teaching you how to wield a blade with precision and skill. You practice for hours on end, your movements becoming more fluid and confident with each passing day. In the afternoons, Yukimura teaches you about the lore of the seven legendary swords. You sit at the small table in the cottage, poring over ancient scrolls and texts that detail the history and power of each blade. Yukimura explains how the swords were forged in the Stormforge Peaks by the Kagemura Clan, each one imbued with the essence of a different element. He tells you of the Blade Guardians who wield these swords, sworn to protect them from falling into the wrong hands. You listen intently, soaking up every piece of knowledge like a sponge. In the evenings, you and Yukimura sit by the fireplace, discussing strategy and planning your next moves against Evolt. Yukimura shares his own experiences with the organization, recounting battles fought and sacrifices made in the name of protecting the legendary swords.

Yukimura leans forward, the firelight dancing in his eyes as he begins to explain the true nature of the legendary swords. "The seven swords were not simply forged from ordinary metal," he says, his voice low and measured. "They were created using a special technique passed down through the Kagemura Clan, a technique that allowed them to imbue the blades with the very essence of the elements themselves." He gestures to the fireplace, where the flames dance and flicker. "Just as fire can be both a force of creation and destruction, so too can the power of the swords. When a Blade Guardian wields one of these blades, they form a bond with the sword - a connection that allows them to tap into its true potential." Yukimura's gaze grows distant, as if remembering his own experiences with Kaze no Kokoro. "But this bond comes at a price."

"If the sword is broken, the wielder will die as well," Yukimura continues, his voice heavy with the weight of this knowledge. "It is a sacrifice that every Blade Guardian must be willing to make, knowing that their life is forever tied to the fate of their sword." He looks at you, his eyes searching your face for understanding. "This is why Evolt seeks these blades - not simply for their power, but for the control they offer over those who wield them." You nod solemnly, the weight of Yukimura's words settling over you like a heavy cloak. The responsibility of being a Blade Guardian, of wielding one of the legendary swords, is not something to be taken lightly. You think of Kaze no Kokoro, the sword that Yukimura wields with such skill and grace, and the bond that he shares with it.

As the fire crackles and pops in the fireplace, Yukimura continues his lesson. "The bond between a Blade Guardian and their sword is not just a physical one," he explains, his voice taking on a more introspective tone. "It is a connection of the mind, heart, and soul. When you wield a legendary sword, you are not simply holding a weapon - you are becoming one with it, channeling its power through your own body and spirit." He pauses for a moment, considering his next words carefully. "This bond can be a source of great strength, but it can also be a weakness. If a Blade Guardian allows their emotions to cloud their judgment, if they lose sight of their purpose and their duty, then the sword can become a liability rather than an asset." Yukimura's gaze grows intense, his eyes boring into yours with a fierce determination.

"As a Blade Guardian, you must always remember the true nature of your bond with your sword," Yukimura continues, his voice filled with conviction. "It is not a possession to be owned or controlled, but a partner to be respected and cherished. You must trust in its power, even as you trust in yourself and your own abilities."

He rises from his seat, walking over to the window and gazing out at the darkened mountainside. "The path ahead of us will be fraught with danger and uncertainty," Yukimura says, his back turned to you as he stares out into the night. "Evolt will stop at nothing to obtain the legendary swords, and they will not hesitate to use any means necessary to achieve their goals." His voice grows grim, tinged with a hint of sadness. "There will be times when we will be forced to make difficult choices, to sacrifice our own desires for the greater good."

Takeshi lean forward, his curiosity piqued by Yukimura's mention of Evolt. "Who is Evolt, exactly?" He ask, your voice tinged with a mix of apprehension and determination. "I know they're the ones who attacked our village, but why do they want the legendary swords so badly?"

Yukimura turns to face him, his expression grave. "Evolt is a secret organization that has been operating in the shadows for centuries," he begins, his voice low and measured. "Their true origins are shrouded in mystery, but their ultimate goal is clear: to obtain the seven legendary swords and use their power to dominate the world." He pauses for a moment, his eyes narrowing as he considers his next words. "Evolt believes that by collecting all seven swords, they will gain absolute control over the elements and, by extension, the world itself," Yukimura continues, his voice growing more intense with each word. "They seek to reshape reality according to their own twisted vision, to create a new order where they hold all the power."

He begins to pace the room, his footsteps echoing softly on the wooden floor. "Evolt's leader, Lord Varrak, is a ruthless and ambitious man," Yukimura says, his voice dripping with disdain. "He is a master of manipulation and deception, able to bend others to his will with little more than a whisper." He stops pacing, turning to face you once again. "It is said that Lord Varrak possesses a sword of his own - one that is as dark and twisted as his heart." Yukimura's gaze darkens as he speaks of Lord Varrak, his eyes clouded with a mixture of anger and concern. "Varrak's sword is not one of the seven legendary blades," he explains, his voice low and ominous. "But it is powerful nonetheless, imbued with a malevolent energy that seems to corrupt all those who come into contact with it."

Takeshi lean forward, his eyes narrowed in curiosity. "What is the name of Lord Varrak's sword?" He ask, Takeshi voice tinged with a hint of apprehension. Yukimura's expression darkens, his brow furrowing as he considers your question.

"The sword wielded by Lord Varrak is known as the Voidblade of Erebus," Yukimura replies, his voice low and ominous. "Legend has it that the Voidblade was forged by a mysterious creature known as the Umbral Smith, who dwells in the darkest depths of the Shadowlands. The sword itself is a thing of pure darkness, its blade seemingly carved from the very essence of shadows and void energy. When wielded by Lord Varrak, the Voidblade grants him the power to manipulate shadows and darkness, allowing him to strike with deadly precision and unnerving stealth." Yukimura's voice grows grim as he continues his explanation. "The Voidblade is a corrupting influence, twisting the minds and hearts of those who come into contact with it," he says, his eyes darkening with concern. "It feeds on the darkness within its wielder, amplifying their negative emotions and driving them to commit unspeakable acts of cruelty and violence." He pauses for a moment, his gaze distant as if lost in thought.

The fire crackled softly in the dimly lit room, casting flickering shadows along the wooden walls. Seated by the warmth, Takeshi leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees as he fixed his sharp gaze on the sword. "Talking about swords can you tell me all about The Seven Legendary Swords" asked Takeshi to Yukimura.

Yukimura nods, a glimmer of understanding in his eyes. "Of course," he says, gesturing for Takeshi to open his ears widely. "The seven legendary swords are each unique, with their own distinct powers and abilities." He reaches for a scroll on one of the shelves, unrolling it to reveal intricate illustrations of each sword.

"First, there is Kaze no Kokoro, the sword I wield." Yukimura holds up his hand, and the legendary sword appears in his grasp as if summoned by his very thoughts. The blade shimmers with a faint blue light, its surface etched with intricate whorls and patterns that seem to dance before your eyes. "Kaze no Kokoro, or 'Heart of the Wind,' grants its wielder the power to control and manipulate wind," Yukimura explains, his voice filled with a quiet pride. "The sword is known for its precision and speed, making it a favorite among Blade Guardians who specialize in swift, agile combat." He demonstrates, sending a gust of wind swirling around the room with a flick of his wrist.

"Next is Mizu no Tamashii, the 'Soul of Water," Yukimura's voice draws your attention back to the scroll, where an illustration of a gracefully curved blade gleams with an inner, watery light. "This sword allows its wielder to control and manipulate water," Yukimura continues, tracing the curve of the blade with his finger. "It is a powerful tool for both offense and defense, capable of creating massive waves or slicing through enemies with razor-sharp precision." The illustration seems to shimmer and ripple, as if the sword itself were submerged in a flowing river.

"Hi no Tsurugi, the 'Flame Sword,' is a blade that burns with an inner fire." Yukimura points to the next illustration, which depicts a sword with a blazing red blade. The parchment itself seems to warm under his touch.

"This sword grants its wielder the power to control and manipulate fire," he explains, his voice tinged with a hint of caution. "It is a weapon of great destructive potential, capable of incinerating entire armies in a matter of moments." Yukimura's finger moves to the next illustration on the scroll, depicting a sleek, silver blade that seems to glow with an ethereal light.

"Tsuki no Kokoro, the 'Heart of the Moon,' is a sword that wields the power of the moon and its phases," he says, his voice taking on a reverent tone. "Its wielder can harness the moon's gravitational pull to manipulate tides and even the very earth itself."

Takeshi asked " There are three more swords right?" Yukimura nods, scrolling down to reveal the illustrations of the remaining three legendary swords. "Indeed, there are three more swords," he confirms, his voice filled with a mix of reverence and caution. "Each one is unique in its power and ability."

He points to the next illustration, depicting a blade that seems to be made of pure crystal.

"Ten no Kiba, or 'Fang of Heaven,' is a sword that wields the power of lightning," Yukimura explains, his voice crackling with energy. "Its wielder can summon bolts of lightning from the sky, directing them with deadly precision." The crystal blade seems to shimmer and crackle, as if charged with an inner storm. Yukimura's finger moves to the next illustration, which shows a sword with a deep green blade that seems to be made of living earth and stone. "Chi no Ito, the 'Thread of Life,' is a blade that connects its wielder to the very essence of the earth itself," Yukimura says, his voice taking on a grounding, stable tone. "It grants the ability to manipulate the soil, rock, and even the roots of plants and trees."

Finally, Yukimura points to the last illustration on the scroll, depicting a sword with a blade that seems to be made of pure shadow. "Yami no Tsubasa, or 'Wing of Darkness,' wields the power of shadows and darkness," he explains, his voice growing grim. "Its wielder can manipulate the very shadows themselves, creating illusions and striking from the depths of darkness." The sword seems to absorb the light around it, its blade an abyssal void.

Yukimura carefully rolls up the scroll, his expression thoughtful as he turns to face Takeshi once again. "Each of these swords holds immense power, capable of shaping the very fabric of reality," he says, his voice filled with a sense of awe and respect. "But they are not without their dangers." He places the scroll back on the shelf, his hand lingering on it for a moment before turning to face Takeshi.

"The bond between a Blade Guardian and their sword is deep and profound," Yukimura continues, his voice growing somber. "It is a connection that transcends mere ownership or possession. The sword becomes an extension of the wielder's very being, a part of their soul." He looks down at Kaze no Kokoro, which lies on the table between Takeshi, its blade shimmering softly in the candlelight. "But this bond comes at a price," Yukimura warns, his eyes darkening with the weight of his words. "Should the sword be broken or destroyed, the Blade Guardian's life is forfeit as well. The very essence of their being is tied to the blade, and to lose it is to lose oneself."

He looks up at Takeshi, his gaze intense and unwavering. "This is the burden that we bear as Blade Guardians." Yukimura's voice is heavy with the weight of responsibility, his eyes reflecting the solemnity of his words. "We are bound to these swords, not just by duty or honor, but by the very threads of our existence." He places a hand on Takeshi shoulder, his grip firm and reassuring.

"It is a path that requires great strength and dedication," he continues, his voice growing stronger with each word. "But I have seen that strength within you, Takeshi. You have the heart of a true Blade Guardian, a warrior who will fight with every fiber of their being to protect the innocent and preserve the balance of the world." Yukimura's eyes shine with pride and determination as he speaks, his words resonating deep within your soul.

"You have faced unspeakable tragedy and loss," he acknowledges, his voice growing softer, more compassionate."But in that pain, you have found the strength to carry on, to fight for what is right and just. That is the mark of a true hero, Takeshi." Yukimura's words wash over you like a soothing balm, his unwavering faith in your abilities filling Takeshi with a renewed sense of purpose and determination.

"You have the potential to become one of the greatest Blade Guardians this world has ever seen," he continues, his voice ringing with conviction. "All you need is the proper training and guidance to unlock your true power." Yukimura gestures towards the legendary swords hanging on the wall, each one pulsing with an inner light that seems to call out to you. "And that is why I have chosen you, Takeshi Hongou, to be my apprentice and the next wielder of Kaze no Kokoro."

Yukimura's words hang in the air, heavy with significance and the weight of destiny. Takeshi feel a surge of emotion well up inside him, a mix of gratitude, pride, and determination. The weight of Yukimura's words settles upon Takeshi's shoulders like a mantle, and he can feel the power of Kaze no Kokoro pulsing in response to his rising emotions. He look up at Yukimura, his eyes shining with resolve and the fire of newfound purpose.

"I will not let you down, Master Yukimura," you vow, your voice ringing with conviction. "I will train harder than I have ever trained before, and I will become the Blade Guardian that this world needs me to be." His words hang in the air, a solemn promise that echoes through the chamber.

Yukimura nods, a smile of approval spreading across his face. "I have no doubt that you will, Takeshi," he says, his voice filled with pride and confidence. "You have the heart of a true warrior, and the spirit of a hero." He places a hand on Takeshi's shoulder, his grip firm and reassuring. "But remember," he continues, his voice growing more serious, "the path of the Blade Guardian is not an easy one. It will test you in ways you cannot imagine, pushing you to your limits and beyond." Yukimura's eyes darken with the memory of his own trials and tribulations, the sacrifices he has made in the name of duty and honor. " But you have the strength to overcome these challenges," Yukimura assures him, his voice ringing with conviction. "You have the courage to face your fears, the determination to never give up, and the compassion to protect those who cannot protect themselves." He smiles, his eyes shining with pride and affection.

"Remember, Takeshi, you are not alone in this journey," Yukimura continues, gesturing towards the legendary swords on the wall. "Each of these swords holds a piece of our history, a legacy that stretches back through the ages. The Blade Guardians who came before us fought with honor and courage, defending the innocent and preserving the balance of the world." He pauses, his gaze distant as if seeing into the past itself. "Their spirits live on within these blades, guiding and protecting us even in our darkest hours."

Yukimura turns back to Takeshi, his expression serious yet reassuring. "As you embark on this path, remember that you carry the hopes and dreams of all those who have come before you," he says, his voice filled with a quiet intensity. "You are the guardian of not just one sword, but of an entire legacy, a chain of heroes that stretches back through the centuries." He places his hand on the hilt of Kaze no Kokoro, his eyes gleaming with determination. "Each day, you must train your mind, body, and spirit," Yukimura instructs, his voice firm but encouraging. "You must learn to harness the power of Kaze no Kokoro, to bend the wind itself to your will." He demonstrates, sending a gust of wind swirling around the room with a flick of his wrist.

"Your training will be rigorous and unyielding," he continues, his eyes fixed on Takeshi with unwavering intensity." But I will be with you every step of the way, guiding you and teaching you all that I know." Yukimura's voice is filled with a promise, a solemn vow to stand by your side as you embark on this new path. "Together, we will face whatever challenges come our way, and we will emerge stronger for it."

Yukimura's words fill Takeshi with a sense of determination and resolve, his faith in Takeshi abilities bolstering Takeshi own confidence. Takeshi nod, his eyes shining with gratitude and the fire of newfound purpose. "Thank you, Master Yukimura," he say, his voice filled with emotion. "Your words mean more to me than I can express. I will do everything in my power to live up to your expectations and become the Blade Guardian that this world needs."

Yukimura smiles, his expression warm and proud. "I have no doubt that you will, Takeshi." He bow deeply to Yukimura, his heart swelling with gratitude and determination. "I will not let you down, Master Yukimura," he vow, his voice ringing with conviction. "I will train harder than I have ever trained before, and I will become the Blade Guardian that this world needs me to be."

Yukimura places a hand on your shoulder, his grip firm and reassuring. "I know you will, Takeshi." Yukimura leads Takeshi to a spacious training hall, its wooden floors polished to a gleam and its walls adorned with ancient weapons and artifacts. In the center of the room stands a life-sized wooden training dummy, its surface worn and battered from countless practice sessions. Yukimura gestures towards the dummy, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "This is where we will begin your training," he announces, his voice ringing out through the hall.

The hall was quiet, illuminated by the soft glow of lanterns. The polished wooden floor reflected the flickering light, and a faint breeze carried the scent of incense through the open shoji doors.

Takeshi stood before Yukimura, waiting for instruction, but he simply looked at him with calm eyes before speaking.

"Rest tonight," he said. "We begin training tomorrow."

Takeshi nod, his heart racing with anticipation and excitement. "Yes, Master Yukimura," he reply, bowing deeply in respect. As he straighten up, Takeshi can't help but notice the way Kaze no Kokoro seems to pulse with an inner light, as if responding to his own rising emotions. He can feel the weight of the sword against Yukimura hip, a constant reminder of the responsibility and duty that now rests upon his shoulders.

Takeshi retire to his room for the night, his mind buzzing with excitement and anticipation for the training that lies ahead. As he lay down on his futon, he can't help but reflect on the tragic journey that has brought him to this moment. From the tragedy of losing his family and friends to the secret organization Evolt, to being taken in by the legendary Blade Guardian Sanada Yukimura and learning the ways of the sword, Takeshi have come so far in such a short time. As he drift off to sleep, his mind filled with dreams of the future and the challenges that await him, he can't help but feel a sense of purpose and destiny settling upon his shoulders. He know that the path ahead will be difficult and fraught with danger, but he also know that he have the strength and determination to overcome whatever obstacles may come his way.
