Synopsis
Her Dark Obsession A Dark Fantasy Romance Prologue: The Unseen Watcher The night air was thick with magic. Lucian stood in the shadows, watching her. He had watched her for years, unseen and unnoticed, his presence lingering in the corners of her world. Sophia was human—or so she thought. Living a normal life, laughing with her friends, excelling in school, and basking in the love of her foster parents. She was perfection wrapped in innocence, oblivious to the dark forces that circled her, waiting for her awakening. And now, the time had come. Her transformation was beginning. Lucian clenched his fists. He knew what this meant. Every supernatural being that felt the surge of her power would come for her—some to worship, some to kill, and others, like him, to claim. She was his fated mate. The prophecy was clear. And yet, she didn’t know him. Not yet. But she would.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Perfect Life

Chapter One: The Perfect Life

Sophia Cross had everything a high school girl could dream of. A perfect GPA, the title of cheer captain, a loving home, and the crown of prom queen practically waiting for her. She had been raised by wonderful foster parents, Richard and Olivia, who treated her like their own daughter.

She didn't remember anything before them. Her life had always been here, in this small town, where she thrived.

"Are you ready, sweetheart?" Olivia's voice called from the hallway.

Sophia glanced at herself in the mirror. Her auburn hair cascaded down in perfect waves, her emerald eyes sparkling with excitement. Prom night. The biggest night of her high school life.

"I'm coming!" she called back, smoothing her deep red dress.

Tonight was supposed to be perfect.

But something felt… off.

A strange heat coursed through her veins, her skin tingling as if something deep within her was waking up.

She shook it off. It was just nerves. Right?

She had no idea that by the end of the night, nothing in her world would ever be the same.
