Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 1, PAGE 6:TRAUMA

I clenched my fists. I refused to believe that.

How could I, when I had never seen it for myself?

If the world outside is truly so terrible as they claimed, then I want to witness it with my own eyes.

To know the truth – not just the version my father fed us.

One day, I will see it with my own eyes. Somewhere beyond this cruelty, there has to be something more.

I won't just prove them all wrong.

I will show them that I can become even stronger than they ever imagined.

Suddenly..

A heavy knock echoed through the house. It was slow, weak – almost hesitant.

I hesitated before stepping toward the door, my heartbeat quickering. As I pulled it open, the sight before me made my blood cold.

Father.

He stood there, barely holding himself up. His face was pale, twisted in agony. His right arm – gone.

Blood poured from the open wound, staining the ground beneath him. Deep gashes

covered his body, his clothes torn and soaked in red. His breathing was ragged,

uneven.

„H-Help..."

His voice was barely more than a whisper before his legs gave out.

I froze.

My mind screamed at me to move, to do something, but my body wouldn't listen.

I thought my life couldn't get any worse… but I was wrong.

„Ren!"

My mother's voice shattered through my daze.

She rushed forward, eyes wide with fear and

desperation."GET THE MEDICINE NOW!"

Her screams jolted me into action.

I spun around, running as fast as my legs could carry me, tearing through the house in search of medicine.

My hands fumbled as I grabbed the bottles, my breath shallow and rushed.

But by the time i returned...it

was too late.

My father lay limp in my mother's arms.

His lifeless eyes stared past me, unseeing. The blood pooling beneath him had already stopped spreading.

Then, she snapped.

Tears streamed down her face as she clutched his broken body. Her shoulders trembled, her fingers digging into his torn clothes.

„Do you see now Ren?!" Her

voice cracked, filled with raw pain and fury.

„This is why your father never

wanted you to go out!"

Her words cut deeper than any

blade.

I couldn't speak.

I couldn't think.
