I groggily opened my eyes, rubbing the sleep from them. My room was a mess, with clothes scattered all over the floor and my bed unmade. I sighed, knowing I'd have to clean up before my mom got home.
As I swung my legs over the side of the bed, a sharp pain shot through my head, making me wince. I tried to remember the previous night, but my memories were hazy. I vaguely recalled going to a party with my friends, but everything after that was a blur.
I try to piece together the events of the previous night, but my memories are shrouded in a thick fog. I vaguely recall laughing and joking with my friends, but the details are elusive.
Kae stumbled out of bed and staggered to the bathroom. He turned on the faucet, cupping his hands to splash water on his face. As he looked in the mirror, he noticed something strange – his eyes seemed different, the irises a deeper shade of blue than he remembered.
I shook my head, chalking it up to the hangover. But as I turned to leave the bathroom, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My skin seemed paler, my muscles more defined. I looked...different.
A shiver ran down Kae's spine as he realized that something was off. He tried to remember the party again, but his memories remained fuzzy.
As I walked back to my room, I noticed a piece of paper on my desk. It was a note, written in a handwriting I didn't recognize:
"Kae, your life is about to change forever. Meet me at the old oak tree in the park at midnight. Come alone."
The note was unsigned, but it sent a chill down my spine. Who could have written this? And what did they mean by "your life is about to change forever"?
Kae's mind was racing with questions, but he knew he had to focus on the present. He had to clean up his room and get ready for the day.
As I began to pick up my clothes, I noticed something strange – a small, intricate tattoo on my left wrist. It looked like a cross between a vampire's fang and a demon's claw.
My heart skipped a beat as I stared at the tattoo. Where had it come from? And what did it mean, my phone buzzed with an incoming text message. My heart sank as I read the message:
"We know what you are, Kae. Meet us at the old oak tree at midnight if you want to live."
My eyes widened in horror as I realized that my life was indeed about to change forever.
Kae's phone buzzed again, and he hesitated before answering the call. A low, menacing voice spoke on the other end:
"Kae, you have 12 hours to meet us. If you don't show up, your mom will be the first to die."
My world went dark as the line went dead.
