Chapter 2 - PROLOGUE

The night is dark, the neon lights of the bustling city are reflected on the damp streets, and cars whizz by, bringing up a humid wind. Zhang Feng shuttled through the crowd with a thoughtful look on his face. As an ordinary veteran, he didn't like the hustle and bustle of the city, but the pressures of life forced him to keep his head down and live a 9-to-5 life.

Today's air was extraordinarily dreary, as if a storm was coming, pedestrians were hurrying, and the stray cats in the streets and alleys were hiding with great vigilance, except for a pair of twin headlights piercing the darkness in the night.

Zhang Feng had just finished shopping from the supermarket, carrying a black backpack and walking home along the familiar alley. This alley is where he usually takes shortcuts, and although it is dark during the day, it is even deeper at night. The old buildings on both sides of the street seem to have been eroded by time, the mottled walls are plastered with broken advertisements, and the occasional dog barking in the distance adds to the sense of silence and oppression.

When he walked to the middle of the alley, Zhang Feng suddenly stopped - the street light in front of him flashed a few times, and then went out with a "pop". The pitch-black alleyway suddenly fell into endless shadows, as if it was tightly covered by an invisible palm.

The surrounding sounds seemed to be swallowed up, and even the distant sound of traffic became distant and indistinct.

Zhang Feng frowned, and a trace of uneasiness rose in his heart. He had experienced life-and-death battles on the battlefield, and his sense of danger was sharper than that of ordinary people, and at this moment, his instincts frantically warned him that something was approaching!

He took a deep breath and slowly retreated, trying to exit the alley. However, the ground under his feet suddenly shook, and an inexplicable suction force surged from the depths of darkness, and his body instantly lost its balance!

"What ——!"

Before he could react, an invisible force suddenly pulled his body and dragged him into the dark abyss!

The world twisted in an instant, the streets, the buildings, and the sky turned into shattered phantoms, and it was as if he had been dragged into another dimension by an invisible giant hand, his limbs completely uncontrollable, and his ears were filled with the roar of a storm.

Under the darkness, his consciousness quickly blurred, and everything in front of him completely disappeared...The waves crash against the shore, leaving a little foam behind when the tide recedes. The blazing sun pierces through the clouds and falls on the delicate golden sand, and the air is filled with a moist sea breeze with a hint of salty smell. A few seagulls hovered in the sky and let out a long chirp.

Zhang Feng slowly opened his eyes, his headache splitting, and his body seemed to be pressed by something heavy. He blinked, trying to make his blurry vision clear. The entrance is a blue sea, with waves gently lapping against the shore, occasionally rolling up a few patches of dry seagrass.

"It's ... Which? "

He struggled to sit up from the sand, quickly scanning his surroundings.

Beside him, several figures were scattered along the shore, their clothes wet, as if they had just been washed ashore by the tide like him. The sea breeze was blowing, and several people were pale, and some of them frowned, and they didn't seem to have fully regained consciousness.

Memories of last night came flooding back to me—the strange sounds, the fear of being dragged in the darkness, the sudden fainting... Everything seemed like a nightmare, but now, he clearly realized that it was not a dream, but a disaster that was so real that it made people's hearts palpitate.

They are taken to a strange place, a world full of unknown dangers.

Zhang Feng took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He forced himself to his feet and walked to his nearest companion, a young man with black-rimmed glasses, his face pale, his brow furrowed, his lips slightly dry, and he did not look well.

"Hey, are you okay?" Zhang Feng reached out and patted the other party's shoulder.

The man with glasses opened his eyes suddenly, his body trembled, and he looked around vigilantly, obviously not fully understanding the situation.

"Where is this?" He muttered under his breath and lifted his hand to his glasses, trying to stabilize himself.

"I don't know." Zhang Feng shook his head, "But obviously we didn't come here of our own free will. "

The others also woke up one after another, their expressions varied, some frightened, some confused, some angry.

Among them, a short-haired girl looked particularly panicked, and after looking around, she suddenly got up, her voice trembling a little: "What's the matter?" I was in the dorm room last night, why did I suddenly run here? "

"Calm down!" A tall man frowned and let out a low snort.

"Calm down? We've been thrown into this kind of hellish place, how do you calm me down? The short-haired girl's eyes glistened with tears, and her body trembled slightly.

Zhang Feng frowned and looked at the group of people in front of him. In addition to himself, there were at least six other people here - a young man with glasses, a girl with short hair, a tall man, a young man with a gloomy complexion, a petite girl, and another man who was silent.

Just as the atmosphere became more and more tense, a creepy mechanical synthesized sound sounded in my ears—

"Dungeon Open: Survival on a Desert Island."

"Main Quest: Survive for Seven Days."

"Mission Tip: The night on a desert island is not safe, please find shelter as soon as possible."

"Rules added: Dying in a dungeon will be treated as a real death."
