Chapter 1 – The Boy With the Familiar Eyes

Amara never believed in fate. She believed in books, logic, and the certainty that two plus two would always equal four. But the first time she saw Daniel, something in her world shifted—like an unspoken equation she had yet to solve.

It was the first week of university, and campus life was already overwhelming. The registration hall buzzed with activity—freshers running around, lecturers droning into microphones, and a long, slow-moving queue of students waiting to submit their documents.

Amara adjusted her glasses, sighing. Two hours in this queue, and I'm still not close to the front. Wonderful.

"Excuse me?" A deep voice pulled her from her thoughts.

She turned, and for a moment, time stalled.

The boy standing behind her was tall, with a confident posture, sharp jawline, and warm brown skin. But it was his eyes that caught her off guard—familiar, as if she had known him all her life.

"I think you dropped this." He held out her student ID.

"Oh—thank you," she said, taking it.

"No problem. Amara, right?" He glanced at the ID before handing it over. "Nice name. I'm Daniel."

Something about his presence felt oddly… comfortable.

"Nice to meet you, Daniel."

"Likewise," he said, flashing a smile. "Though, we might need to form a support group after this queue torture."

She laughed—a real, genuine laugh.

From that moment, their connection was instant. What started as casual conversations in class turned into study sessions, then late-night walks around campus, then coffee dates at the cafeteria.

And before she knew it, she was falling.
