Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: TAKEN

Hazel's screams filled the air, raw and desperate, but they didn't matter. No one was there to hear her, no one to save her. The night swallowed her cries as the guards grabbed her, their hands like iron cuffs around her arms. She twisted and kicked, her heart pounding with fear, but it was useless. They were too strong. Too ruthless.

Then, as if things couldn't get worse, he got in.

The billionaire himself.

Hazel froze, her breath catching in her throat. He slid into the seat beside her with an air of complete control, his movements slow and deliberate. He didn't spare her a glance. Didn't acknowledge her panic. His cold gaze remained fixed ahead, emotionless, as if this was just another business transaction to him.

Outside, his other guards took their places in the convoy, moving in perfect order. A well-oiled machine. Within seconds, the cars pulled out of the driveway and sped into the night, leaving Hazel's home behind.

Her home.

The place she had thought was safe.

Gone.

She couldn't stop the trembling in her hands as she stared at the man beside her. He didn't speak, didn't react to her presence, but his silence was more terrifying than words ever could be.

Hazel's mind raced.

How did this happen?

Why did my father let this happen?

But deep down, she already knew the answer.

Her father owed this man money. A lot of money.

For four years, the debt had gone unpaid. And this man—this ruthless billionaire—was not the kind to forgive. He had given his warnings. He had waited long enough. And now, he had come to collect.

Hazel was the payment.

The reality of it made her stomach churn.

She clenched her fists, trying to steady her breathing. There had to be a way out. Some kind of escape. But as she stared out the window, watching the darkened city streets blur past, she realized something.

She wasn't just being taken.

She was being erased.

There would be no news reports, no police investigations, no one to come searching for her.

She was his now.

And no one would dare challenge him.

The drive felt endless, the weight of silence pressing down on her. Hazel wanted to speak, to demand answers, to scream at him, but something told her it would be pointless.

Then, finally, they arrived.

The massive gates of his estate loomed ahead, opening on their own—no guards, no visible security, just the eerie hum of technology in motion. As the convoy rolled inside, Hazel's breath caught in her throat.

This wasn't a house.

It was a kingdom.

A fortress built for someone untouchable.

The kind of wealth that ordinary people could only dream of.

Even if she combined the earnings of her entire bloodline, she would never be able to afford a single tile of the marble driveway they were now cruising over.

The cars pulled into a pristine garage, lined with sleek black vehicles that looked more like military-grade machines than regular transportation. Each car parked with robotic precision, not a single inch out of place.

Hazel swallowed hard, her unease growing.

That's when she noticed it.

The mansion was painted in red and black.

Who does that?

The colors weren't just a bold design choice. They screamed power. Danger. A warning to anyone foolish enough to cross the man who owned it.

Hazel barely had time to process the unsettling detail before rough hands yanked her out of the car.

They didn't treat her like a person.

They treated her like property.

"Take her to the third room on the second floor," the billionaire ordered, his tone void of emotion.

It was a command, not a suggestion.

The guards obeyed without hesitation, dragging her through the massive halls of the mansion. She caught glimpses of passing servants, their faces blank but their eyes holding something she couldn't quite name.

Was it pity?

Or was it fear?

Hazel's heart pounded as they pushed her into a room and slammed the door shut behind her.

She barely made it to the bed before collapsing into a heap.

Tears burned her eyes as she clutched her arms, shaking.

How did my life come to this?

If only her father had made better choices.

If only he had never borrowed from this man.

Hazel curled into herself, sobbing until her body was too exhausted to continue.

And then—

The door creaked open.

She jumped, her pulse spiking.

A guard stood in the doorway, his face unreadable "Take a bath. Now. The boss needs you in the next 15 minutes." he ordered.

15 minutes? Her pulse increased as she stared at the guard. 'What is he going to do to me?' She wanted to ask but killed the question in her mind the instant. There was no point, she was his now and can do whatever he wants…

But as she stepped out...reality came crashing back. She had no fresh clothes...

And it was a secret she had to protect.

A knock came at the door and quickly, she wrapped her hands around her body remembering she was naked.

"Who are you?" She found herself asking, thinking it was one of those guards again...

The door cracked open and a woman came rushing in with dresses in her hand.

"Good evening ma'am, I'm...Anna one of the cleaners in the house. From now on, I will be taking care of your dressing."

She sighed, slowly relieved...

Hazel looked at the dresses and discovered that they were mostly sheer dresses of which were against her dressing code.

"I can't put on this", she bluntly refused dropping the clothes on the bed, I'm afraid you have to ma'am, the boss asked that you put it on, Anna said using the door.

"What the heck", I….. Hazel was about to say when a knock came on the door again.

You have thirty seconds, came a voice which she realized to be the same voice that asked her to take her bath.

Reality came crashing on her, … she picked up the least sheer dress and wore.

"The boss wants you in his room." came the voice,

His tone left no room for negotiation.

Hazel hesitated, but she didn't resist.

What good would it do?

The elevator ride to the third floor was silent.

But with each passing second, her unease grew.

When the doors slid open, Hazel's breath hitched.

This floor was different.

Luxurious. Breathtaking, even.

But it was too quiet.

Too empty.

Seven rooms stretched down the long hallway, but there was no movement, no sound.

Then, she saw it.

One door stood out from the rest.

Painted in the same red and black as the mansion's exterior. But worse.

The door itself was blood red.

Hazel's stomach twisted.

Was that his room?

The mansion's beauty no longer mattered.

All she could feel now was fear.

Her nightmare was only just beginning. stretched down the long hallway, but there was no movement, no sound.

"increase your pace" the voice of the guard brought her back to reality, she bent her head into the sheer dress she was putting on and sobbed a little before the guard announced " we are here now, better behave yourself for your sake, get inn" , the guard said and went away.

Her nightmare was only just beginning
