Alexander's conquests were swift and decisive, spreading Greek culture across his vast empire. After his untimely death in 323 BC, his generals divided the empire into four weaker kingdoms. The Ptolemaic and Seleucid dynasties clashed over Israel, fulfilling Daniel's prophecy of the "King of the North" and "King of the South".
Despite its cultural achievements, Greece's political unity was short-lived. The empire fragmented, leaving it vulnerable to external threats. In 146 BC, Rome defeated Greece, marking the end of its dominance.
