Rohit was looking at several different books for questions he would solve for the rest of his week.
This is a good refresher...
He picked a book from the middle shelf and muttered as he did so.
While walking toward the counter, he wondered what he was doing with his life. His parents forced him to study mathematics and physics, but he was more interested in the history and politics of the world.
He walked over to the counter and handed the book to the shopkeeper, "I'm buying this book only."
The shopkeeper looked at the book and said, "It will be 2,150 rupees."
Damn... how expensive
Rohit thought before handing five crisp notes of 500 rupees to the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper took the notes and then handed Rohit the change along with the book in a plastic polythene bag.
After taking the change and the book, Rohit walked out of the stationery and looked around.
I'm feeling dizzy
He brushed off the sensation as a result of rarely leaving his house.
After walking for some time, his vision became blurry and he fell onto the cold footpath.
THUD!
....
Ah! My head hurts very badly
He felt the pain in his head as if someone were repeatedly hitting it with a baseball bat.
After the unbearable pain subsided, he opened his eyes to find himself sleeping on a rough bed that was not very soft. He looked at his surroundings and saw a small room with wooden furniture and wooden walls.
This is not common in my house
He thought, since in his country, India, the furniture was made of metal and other materials, the walls were cement, and the floor was tiled.
After a few minutes, he gathered enough energy to stand up. He walked over to the window, and his eyes widened as he looked at the scene.
What is this scene?
Outside the window were old-fashioned buildings and brick-laid roads.
Am I somewhere else? Am I kidnapped? Or perhaps I died?
He wondered as he turned back and looked at himself in a mirror—a man he did not recognize.
This isn't me...
He had green eyes, black medium-length hair, and an average physique.
Previously, he looked toned because he worked out at home and he was slightly tan.
Am I transferred to another world?
This concept was very bizarre to him.
What am I? In a Chinese or Japanese novel?
He wondered if he had read about these concepts in those complex web novels that he often pirated from free websites.
But he decided to calm down, sat in the nearest wooden chair, closed his eyes, and thought calmly.
Robert Smith, a citizen of the Kingdom of Union of 12 Clans, also known as KUC Union.
He worked at a library as a night shift guard and earned an average salary that afforded him three meals a day and a small apartment with all basic amenities.
Rohit opened his eyes and wondered that he had no clue what to do now, how he had ended up in a place like this.
Ugh! This is so confusing
He thought, and then he decided to go with the flow of his current arrangement and decide what to do in the future.
