Synopsis
The world follows a strict RPG-like class system—every person is assigned one class for life, and changing classes is impossible. That is, until the protagonist, Noctis, a warmonger from Earth, stumbles upon the Providence System right before his death. It’s an ancient relic left behind by the “Players”—beings who once had unlimited class selection but mysteriously vanished. Now, he alone holds the power to change fate, but as he grows stronger, he realizes that the world itself might be more than he could ever imagine. Plot progression: Volume 1: Godbrand(ongoing) I’ll try to upload 2-3 chapters daily with each chapter reaching above 1k in terms of pure word count. It’ll be definitely be pushing towards progression and adventure and action along with a decent focus on character development rather than smut or romance.(I’m not saying that there won’t be romance, it’ll definitely be there when there’s time for it!) What you can expect: •A battle loving MC that is definitely smarter than your average Joe but definitely isn’t a true genius. •Great depth in terms of monster fights. •Well thought out characters. •A decent try at making the world feel alive and lived in.

Chapter 1 - The Last Player in a World of NPCs

I hated my life.

Truly if there was any way to describe how much I hated my life, that would still not be enough.

I was born in the year 2032, three years before World War 3 began. With the Third World War came the desperate cries of humanity as more than 30% of the world's population died and 60% of the world's land became uninhabitable due to the excessive use of nukes.

The Americas were simply no more, almost all of Russia and the western side of Europe became uninhabitable with the emergence of a place called 'The Zone'. Asia and a large portion of Africa had it better but not for long, Asia was soon overrun by Americans and Russians and the Chinese taking advantage of the chaos and disorder to take over the remains of our broken world.

My parents had died about seven years after the war began when I was about 10 years old.

After that was when hell truly began. I was taken in by Chinese soldiers as a war prisoner and was subjected to some of the worst forms of experimentation, torture and labour anyone has had to endure.

It wasn't long until the base I was in was raided by American soldiers but by then my body was barely recognisable. I was 12 when that happened but no one could tell that when they saw me. Instead they saw someone transitioning to a young adult who was one of the few remaining test subjects that the Chinese succeeded in creating into the perfect solider.

They called us Chyld Warriors.

And we were unstoppable.

Following that was almost 16 years of conquest with us Chyld Warriors in the centre of it all. We were fast, strong, durable, unpredictable and hardwired into loving war.

We conquered all of Asia with our outstanding strength and resilience and soon went to war with the remainder of Europe and before 2050 we managed to conquer all of Asia and the remainder of Europe.

I was made the 2nd Commanding Officer of the Chyld Warriors and was showered with large scale battles.

I fought for the Americans, I pillaged for the Americans, I bred for the Americans and I killed for the Americans. And I hated every single moment of it.

It was then that everything changed.

The remainder of the European Union Forces and Chinese Conquest Party seeked asylum and joined forces with Africa and they were secretly planning and developing weapons that could not only wipe out American Soldiers but also us Chylde Warriors.

America had a year of peace before 'that' happened but that was America as an Empire. We Chylde Warriors were back to being experiments.

They took samples of our DNA, made us breed with strong American women and men to create young soldiers, they did all sorts of psi resistance and torture resistance training on us, made a few of us lose our sense of emotions, all in the name of experimentation.

When Europe, China and Africa, now the Coalition of the World striked America during their time of peace and prosperity, America did their best to retaliate, they tried to hit the Coalition with us Chyld Warriors now better than ever but what none of us anticipated was one man, one soldier, one monster: Canopus.

A man capable of unimaginable durability, destruction and cunning. He took us out like we were fodder and dealt with some of our strongest team leaders all by himself. Word of him spread quickly amongst the dwindling American soldiers and for good reason as well. Once Canopus killed more than 70 Chyld Soldiers, burned all the breeding camps, killed all the researchers and test subjects, America knew they had to hide us away in hopes of Canopus not reaching the top 50 Chyld Warriors.

And it worked, for a while, we lived in harsh locations going from place to place barely surviving on one or two meals every 2-3 days with little to no water but the Canopus caught up to all of us.

And he killed every single one of my comrades. Me and the No.1 Chyld Warrior, Rahl survived but we ended up fatal injuries. It wasn't long until Rahl died but I remained.

I remained and I watched all of my friends die, I, to whom hell's flames would only feel like a sunburn, was not put out of my misery yet.

And the worst part is that I can't even end my own life, instead I am cursed to bleed out and die, slowly, painfully, tragically.

"So you're the last one left huh." A strong dominant voice said from the back. A monster's voice, Canopus's voice.

"Well you were the strongest out of them all." He continued.

Lies, those were lies, there was no way I was stronger than Rahl. He was better than me in every way imaginable. The only attribute I beat him in was in endurance tests but even that was by a short margin.

"Bullshi…t" I spat out with disdain.

Canopus chuckles as he gets close to me but not too close, I think he doesn't want me to pull up with any surprises.

"I don't mean stronger in physical mannerisms, I meant stronger in the sense of sheer will power. In other words, you desperately want to live."

"That's….even less believable than….what you said before." I replied in pain.

"Is that so? Hmmm I don't quite believe you. You see, you have been bleeding out for almost three hours. Not even your buddy 'Mr. Strongest' lasted that long, about an hour I think. Could be wrong…" Canopus replied in a sly tone.

Bastard wants to taunt me right until I kick the bucket.

"It must feel unfair for you to lose to someone like me, am I right? Someone who came outta nowhere, wreaking havoc, having unimaginable power and killing your allies one.by.one." He grinned impishly as he continues.

"Every last fragile insignificant being in this god forsaken planet can band together and fight me with every ounce of destructive force they have and it STILL won't be enough. Do you know why?"

I didn't respond, I won't respond. I won't give this bastard the satisfaction.

A short while passed and an awkward silence fell over both of us.

"I said, do you know why?" He asked again, this time with a tone that was at the edge of irritation. Good.

Canopus then puts his feet on top of my head and slowly starts building pressure. It hurts, quite a bit.

"Be…cause….you're strong." I groaned out, succumbing to the pressure of the pain.

"That's one of the reasons. But the main reason I'm strong is because I was the last player in a world full of npcs." He whispered to my ear.

"It was so lonely being around those weirdos and idiots that I almost hated it 'there'. But I got strong there too, absurdly strong and I loved the sense of power and dominance I can exert here with the strength I gained 'there'.

Madness, pure madness. This guy, this monster is ill in his head. Is he trying to tell me that he transmigrated from another world? Lies. Unbelievable lies. If something like transmigration truly did exist then why? Why would it go to someone like him? Someone so evil and maniacal? Why?

Canopus slowly lifted his foot from my head as he says with a stern, final voice. "Take this to the grave."

-Crunch!

That's it, I'm dead now. I died for nothing just like how I lived for nothing. I died at the hands of a man who killed all of my comrades. I died to a maniac who believes he's from another world. I died because I was just too weak to protect myself or my comrades from him.

I hate this world, I hate this life, I hate Canopus, I hate America, I hate China, I hate my parents and worst of all, I hate myself.

But now it's all over, I'll rest now, in hell. A fitting end to a child of evil like myself.

Suddenly I felt a tingling sensation in my brain. Followed by a flashing light infront of me. Wait….I have eyes? I'm not dead?
