I woke up like every other day, with the early morning wind swishing through my curtains and blowing my hair to my face.
Get up from bed Nicolai, My step mum Tanya,who has been with me since I was 10, said to me as she stood at the corner of my door with my favorite coffee.
You're gonna be late for school get up, I was too lazy to do so but I did it anyway wouldn't want to be late for school. Good morning Tanya I greeted, same love with the most beautiful smile ever . Tanya's a young lady who took the place of my mother since I was 10, she's Beautiful has very daring and beautiful blue eyes with a short blonde hair she works as a voluntary member in the community helping others especially the old folks of the town. You've got to be waking up early, young lady I won't always have to come wake you up every day you know,you'd soon be going to college. The word college hit me like a truck because I remember being fourteen in the tenth grade like it was yesterday. Not like I didn't want to go but I didn't want to miss the comfort of home, I mean college is a new life where you get to see more and more people wether good or bad and did I mention I'm not very good with people. As I got up from my bed I took the coffee from Tanya while I placed a kiss on her cheeks and placed it on my table. Go freshen up now dear I'd be with your Dad downstairs. I did everything she told me to, i brushed my teeth and took a shower and then I had to find out what to do with my messy curls sigh. I have a honeybrown hair which really contrasts my hazel eyes because I'm mixed.My dad's from a tiny town in Nigeria while my mum's from Australia. My Dad and Mum met when my dad went to study abroad. They fell in love and got married and then they had me. Life was good for everyone until Calamity be fell us through the death of my Mother Olivet. I was only eight when this happened, it was on a sunny afternoon when my mum was coming back from work as a baker in Spices Bakery When she had the big accident that cost her her life you might be wondering what happened right? She got hit by a big truck who the driver was driving under the influence of drugs. The news got to us in the evening because everyone was soo worried because we thought she had loads of work to do maybe that's why she hadn't called to inform us she was coming home late. But then she wasn't responding to any of my Dad's texts which warranted him to go to her bakery only to find out that his wife was dead. He was so devastated he cried alot because he couldn't get to see her for the rest of his life again. We held a funeral for her and prayed for her and continued grieving over her death till My dad met Tanya, and got married to her so I can have a mother figure in my life. Tanya's trying her best for me but ,No one can take the place pf my mother.
