Chapter 1 - chapter 1:power glimpse

Time seemed to pause as the young man stepped into the building of Royal Groups of Companies. The atmosphere turned glacial as he walked through, his presence commanding attention. Everyone's gaze was drawn to him, mesmerized by his imposing figure. He was a masterpiece of nature, with a tall, athletic build that seemed chiseled from granite. His hair was as dark as the night sky, perfectly messy and framing his chiseled features. His eyes were an arresting shade of ocean blue, piercing and intense. His voice was low and husky, sending shivers down the spines of those who heard it. He was a work of art, a symphony of masculine beauty and raw power.

But beneath his stunning exterior lay a complex web of emotions, a tangled mess of feelings that he kept hidden behind a mask of icy indifference. Few people had seen beyond his façade, and even fewer had dared to try. He was a mystery, an enigma wrapped in a riddle, and he intended to keep it that way.

"As Orion stepped into the office of Royal Groups' chairman, Mr. Kairos – his father – he slightly bowed his head, removed his mask, and greeted him with his deep, husky voice. 'Orion,' his father called out, his tone firm.

Orion's gaze remained neutral, his emotions locked away. Mr. Kairos was not only his father but also his stepbrothers' father, having married their mother after Orion's own mother's tragic death in a car accident. The accident had left Orion with deep-seated guilt and trauma.

His stepbrothers, Ryan, Matthew, and Gabriel, were not his biological brothers, but they had been accepted as part of the family. Ryan, the oldest, was responsible and handsome, but uninterested in the company. Matthew, the second oldest, was foolish and scandal-prone, often clashing with Orion. Gabriel, the youngest, was responsible and obedient, with a soft spot for Orion.

Orion, however, was a force to be reckoned with. Cold, brutal, and calculating, he had grown up under his father's guidance as a mafia member. He was richer than his father and had built his own company from scratch. His independence

Across town, Astrid, the granddaughter of Future Groups' founder, was preparing for a crucial meeting. Her long, curly brown hair cascaded down her back, framing her heart-shaped face and bright, expressive green eyes. Her slender yet athletic build was accentuated by her tailored business attire, exuding confidence and professionalism.

Astrid's family background was marked by tragedy. Her parents had passed away in a car accident when she was just a child, leaving her in the care of her grandfather. Despite his emotionally distant demeanor, Astrid had grown up to be strong, resilient, and fiercely independence

Orion's gaze remained neutral, his emotions locked away. He knew that this meeting would change every aspect of him .

"Royal Groups is struggling, Orion," his father said, his voice firm. "We need a merger with Future Groups to stay afloat. I've arranged for you to meet with their representative, Astrid, to discuss the details."

Orion's eyes narrowed. He didn't like being told what to do, especially when it came to his family's business.

Just then, Astrid walked into the conference room, her eyes scanning the space until they landed on Orion. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the air thick with tension.

Astrid's gaze was the first to break away, her eyes narrowing as she took in Orion's imposing figure. She had heard rumors about the young heir, but nothing could have prepared her for the reality.

Orion, on the other hand, was intrigued. There was something about Astrid that drew him in, something that made him want to know more.

As they began their discussion, the tension between them was palpable. But little did they know, their lives were about to become intertwined in ways they never could have imagined. Here's the continuation:

"I'm Astrid, the representative from Future Groups," Astrid said, her voice confident and poised.

Orion's gaze lingered on her for a moment before he nodded. "Orion, from Royal Groups."

The tension between them was palpable as they shook hands, their eyes locked in a silent challenge.

"So, let's get down to business," Astrid said, her voice firm. "I understand that Royal Groups is interested in a merger with Future Groups."

Orion's eyes narrowed. "We're interested in exploring our options. But I have to say, I'm not impressed with the terms of the merger."

Astrid's eyes flashed with anger. "The terms are non-negotiable. We're not willing to compromise on our interests."

Orion's smile was cold. "I think you'll find that we're not willing to compromise either."

The air was thick with tension as they glared at each other, the battle lines drawn.

"I don't think you understand the situation, Ms. Astrid," Orion said, his voice dripping with condescension. "Royal Groups is the one with the power here. We're the ones who will be calling the shots."

Astrid's eyes narrowed. "Is that a threat, Mr. Orion?

Orion's smile grew wider. "Oh, no. It's just a statement of fact. And I think you'd do well to remember it."

Astrid's face was pale with anger, her eyes blazing with fury. "I don't think I'll be forgetting anything, Mr. Orion. Least of all, the fact that you're trying to bully me into submission."

The tension between them was almost palpable, the air crackling with hostility.

The next day, Astrid walked into the conference room, her eyes scanning the space until they landed on Orion. He was already seated, his eyes fixed on her as she entered.

"Good morning, Ms. Astrid," he said, his voice low and smooth.

Astrid's eyes narrowed. "Good morning, Mr. Orion. I trust you're ready to discuss the merger terms?"

Orion's smile was cold. "I'm always ready, Ms. Astrid. But I think we both know that the terms are non-negotiable."

Astrid's eyes flashed with anger, but she kept her cool. "We'll see about that, Mr. Orion."

As they began their discussion, Astrid couldn't help but remember Orion's threat from the day before. She was determined to prove him wrong, to show him that Future Groups wouldn't be bullied into submission.

But as they delved deeper into the merger terms, Astrid began to realize that Orion was more cunning than she had given him credit for. He seemed to have an answer for every objection she raised, and his arguments were persuasive.

Astrid's frustration grew with each passing minute. She was determined to come out on top, but Orion seemed to be one step ahead of her at every turn.

As the meeting drew to a close, Astrid felt a sense of unease. She had expected to be able to negotiate the terms of the merger, but Orion had been relentless in his pursuit of Royal Groups' interests.

"I think we've discussed enough for today, Ms. Astrid," Orion said, his eyes glinting with triumph.

Astrid's eyes narrowed. "I don't think we've discussed nearly enough, Mr. Orion."

Orion's smile was cold. "I'm afraid that's all the time I have for today. But don't worry, Ms. Astrid. We'll be in touch soon."

Astrid's eyes flashed with anger

As the meeting adjourned, Astrid couldn't shake the feeling that she had just been outmaneuvered. She was determined to come out on top in their next meeting, but she knew it wouldn't be easy.

The next day, Astrid received an email from Orion's assistant, requesting a meeting at Royal Groups' headquarters.

Astrid's eyes narrowed as she read the email. What was Orion planning now?

She quickly typed out a response, agreeing to the meeting. As she hit send, she felt a sense of trepidation. What would Orion throw at her next?

The meeting was scheduled for the following day. Astrid spent the rest of the day preparing, pouring over financial reports and merger documents.

As she left the office, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was walking into a trap. But she was determined to come out on top.
