Eternal Whispers – A Terrifying Reality
She descended the stairs slowly—barefoot, her hair disheveled, and sharp glass shards piercing her feet, leaving a trail of crimson on the steps. Her body felt heavy as if chained by an unseen force. Her breath was labored, her heartbeat sluggish, and her eyes half-open. Each step was a struggle, and then—suddenly—she stopped.
Blood still dripped, yet there was no pain. A strange numbness spread through her body, as though she had crossed into another realm. Then, a faint creak… a whisper… and instinctively, she lifted her gaze.
Something was there. A shadow—tall, dark, indistinct. It was watching her.
A sudden flash of light, like lightning striking in an instant, jolted her awake. Her eyes widened, breaths uneven. Her lips trembled as if words were stuck on the tip of her tongue. Then, a memory resurfaced—a burst of realization.
"This… is the same…!"
The words escaped her lips in a whisper, as if an unspoken truth had finally been revealed. Her eyes grew even wider. A shockwave hit her mind.
"I've seen this before! This is impossible!"
Fear coursed through her veins. Suddenly, she sprang to her feet and ran. Her body no longer felt heavy. There was no pain in her wounded feet. She climbed the stairs, slammed the door shut, and locked herself inside—as if trying to shield herself from something inevitable.
But the shadow… it was still there. Motionless. Silent. As if it knew there was no need to act.
"Seera! Seera!"
Her mother's voice echoed, distant and desperate. She kept shaking her, calling her name, trying to bring her back—but it was futile. Seera's eyes were empty, her body drenched in sweat, as if she had traveled to another world.
Tears streamed down her mother's face as she patted Seera's cheeks, pleading with her to wake up. But Seera lay still—silent, unresponsive.
Then… all of a sudden… her breath returned with a gasp.
Her eyes shot open, her face burning with terror. Her lips quivered, as if she had just returned from witnessing something beyond comprehension.
"M-mom…!"
Seera broke into sobs, screaming in sheer horror. Her mother instantly pulled her into an embrace, whispering reassurances.
"Shh… it's okay… everything will be alright… nothing will happen… I won't let anything happen to you! You trust your mother, don't you?"
Seera clung to her mother, trembling—but deep inside, she knew.
Everything was not going to be alright.

Two weeks earlier…
Wandering through the library after completing her assignment, Seera thought of exploring the rare books section. She quietly got up and walked towards the shelves on the second floor, where ancient texts were kept.
Seera had always been fascinated by history and mysterious stories. She loved tales that sent shivers down her spine.
As she walked slowly, scanning the titles, her eyes suddenly landed on one book.
A book that seemed to be calling her.
Thick. Black. Radiating an eerie pull.
The cover was embossed with golden words:
"The Whispering Shadows"
A strange thrill coursed through Seera. As if a hidden secret had just been unveiled before her eyes.
Hesitantly, she reached for the book, and the moment she flipped the pages—
Time stopped.
Before her eyes stood the same mansion.
The same dark, ancient mansion, whose walls whispered tales of the past.
As she kept flipping through the pages, her gaze halted at the last page.
Her entire body shivered whe
