In a black-coloured Ford Mustang GT, a man wearing office-like clothes (white tshirt, tie and pants) sits with his arms crossed and his eyes closed.
A man approaches from front side of the mustang holding a cigarette, visibly a cop and says to the man inside the mustang quietly:
"Sir, we have been waiting for you. But can you please show us your ID just for confirmation"
The man shows the cop his ID; The cop says:
"Oh, you really are Matthew Callahan... My name is Gerald Cooper. You are quite famous in the police and SDA."
Matthew takes his ID back and says: "You shouldn't say anything before asking for the ID to an expected detective."
Matthew comes out of his car, stretching his arms and yawning.
"You are quite muscular, Sir.", said Gerald.
Matthew replies "What did you expect then?".
"No no, i was just saying. Its nothing really." said Gerald with slight panic and slight nervousness.
Matthew and Gerald started walking towards the crime scene surrounded by police and forensic experts. The location was at plain farms and there was a small abandoned building looking like a house built by woods.
Matthew asked Gerald "Do you have any information about this abandoned building?"
Gerald replied, "No, We just found the body so we are yet to investigate any civilians nearby. And no evidence worth of information was found in the house yet."
Matthew wears gloves and then walks inside the house covering his nose.
What he sees inside is horrific, Three men's naked dead body hanging upside down. Their body had many bruises.
Matthew saw this horrific scene but didn't react and kept a stoic face as it didn't bother him. He was used to this.
Matthew checks every corner of the house for any evidence.
What he found was very slight broken wooden floor opening, He called gerald, "Gerald, See this."
Gerald took a pry bar and removed the plank.
There was a box with something inside in it.
Matthew opened the box and there was a paper inside it with an emoji-like symbol of cross (❌) instead of eyes and a smile beneath cross.
Gerald: "What the hell is this supposed to mean."
Matthew: "This is not a hint or anything i suppose, this is a challenge for SDA. I guess than it is for me. Like i would give a damn."
Gerald: "Hmm... so you telling me he is challenging you directly. Guy got some balls." Gerald Chuckles slightly.
Matthew comes comes out of the building (crime scene), following him Gerald also walks out. Gerald asks matthew, "Hey.. Have you ever encountered a case where you were terrified?"
Matthew: "Hmm.. Can't Remember, I Dont Think so."
Gerald: "You really are the most Outstanding Person in the SDA."
Gerald takes out a packet of cigarettes.
Gerald: "Do you want a cigar?"
Matthew: "No. I don't Smoke."
"I think i should go, i am getting late." said Matthew to Gerald.
"Where?" asked Gerald.
"Home, my wife would get a little angry if i didn't present myself at home before 6 PM"
replied Matthew.
Gerald: "Okay.. so what about the case?"
Matthew: "You and your team investigate and ask the civilians for information. I will be back active tomorrow."
Gerald: "See you tomorrow then."
Matthew gets in his car and watches the beautiful sunset. He then drives away from the scene.
He then drives to his home. Not too luxurious or not too poor. His home had a nice common vibes with quite good interior.
Matthew rings the bell and instantly knocks on the door 5 times.
His wife, Natasha Callahan opens the door and Matthew gets in the house.
Natasha: "Where were you?"
Matthew: "It was another trivial case."
Natasha: "But didn't you just finish a case just tomorrow?"
Matthew: "Yes. But the crime rates are increasing and I dont think i will have any rest time. Today is a lucky day i guess."
Natasha gets a little upset.
Matthew: "We should enjoy today, instead of worrying for tomorrow. Anyways where are the kids?"
Matthew has 2 kids, one is a 7yo boy named "Frederick Callahan" and other one is a 5yo girl named "Sophia Callahan"
Natasha: "They are sleeping, honey. Also I am gonna make you some great dinner today."
Matthew sits on the couch with.. uh. obviously a stoic face.
You were probably wondering what is SDA?
SDA is the Special Detective Agency. Which is a secret detective agency which has many world's most intelligent minds on their team.
It was created because of the increased crime rate in the USA.
This Agency is divided by Branches, we are gonna focus on the "Murder Branch", this branch catches murderers and Serial Killers. This branch also has one of the most intelligent people in the world. The Special Detectives aren't divided by regions but by their qualifications and capabilities. And cases are identified as high priority, some as medium and other as low.
There are three ranks for Special Detectives; A-rank Detective, they are given the low priority cases Generally. S-rank Detectives, they are given medium priority generally.
And Z-rank detectives are given high priority cases Generally.
Natasha says with a cute face "Matthew.. would you like to help me in the kitchen please?"
Matthew: "How can i reject you? What help do you need.."
The kids comes down from upstairs and play with each other. The smile of joy among everyone is heartwarming. (yes Matthew is also smiling.)
