Chapter 1 - Dream Come True

Huff Huff Huff

His lungs were puffing up and shrinking at a supernatural rate. In front of him stood the monster that ruined his life and all he could do in front of it was wait for death. His weak body couldn't even withstand one hit from his tormentor and left him unable to move.

Huff Huff Huff

He blinked once and when he looked up again all he saw was a giant green hand fly towards him.

Walking out of the lecture hall he headed towards the steel gates down the path. Multiple people walked by, none acknowledging his presence. It wasn't as if he wanted them to come up and talk to him, but the lack of even a glance made him feel like an outcast.

Reaching the gate he turned right and continued down the path, his hood started to blow off from the wind. The tree branches shook without leaves and snow blew at Aaron with every gust.

' Another winter...'

Winter was a troubling time for Aaron, on one hand he loved the cold and snow, but on the other this was the season that brought his the blood soaked dreams from his past. Even after living 14 years of his life the dream still haunts him. The screams of his family, the crimson blood that formed a river, and the smell of iron that lingers in his nose. What really disturbs him is the entity that caused the massacre, a troll.

The only problem is that monsters don't exist in the world he lives in. Aaron could only chalk it up to his childhood imagination trying to cope with his family's murder through monsters from webnovels. After all, the police had confirmed that his parents were stabbed and that the perpetrator had committed suicide right after.

Even still the dream continued to penetrate his dreams. Reaching his destination he looked up at the sign.

'Pc Café'

Heading in he looked around at the hundreds of computers that lined the rows of tables. Heading to the front desk he asked for a 2 hour time slot and payed, then finding his spot and beginning his work.

Aaron was able to get a full ride to a college because of his constant studying. This left him with no time to work and he only had the money the government had provided him to live after turning 18 and having to live outside of the orphanage he grew up in.

This caused him to be unable to buy any technology and he had use either the campus computers of the pc café's, usually the latter because of its included meal.

After 30 minutes he was interrupted by a woman his age dressed in a apron that had the pc cafe's logo on it and a name tag with the name 'Hana' . Aaron couldn't help but always be slightly infatuated with her looks, he couldn't help but develop a crush on the beauty that always served him his cheap ramen.

"Here you go sir. Let me know if you need anything else."

Finishing her sentence she gave a slight smile and caused Aaron's mind to blank briefly. As she turned around his straight black hair swung and he snapped back to reality. Composing himself he got back to work knowing that if his grades couldn't stay up his scholarships would be revoked.

After another hour and a half his time was up and he took his tray with the empty bowl up to the front desk where the girl was working.

When he reached there he coughed awkwardly to get the attention of the girl who had been distracted by other work. As she turned around he held the tray out to her as he had done every time he visited.

She took it, but instead of turning around like usual she stared at him. Not knowing what to do he turned around and walked out still feeling her glare on his back.

Looking around he saw that the previously bright sun had started to set and the city was becoming engulfed by darkness. After only walking for a few seconds he heard a noise in an alley beside him. Looking over he saw a massive figure draped in robes and he could hear the slapping of bare feet on concrete, but when he looked at its feet he was met with a stroke of deja vu.

Green skin.

Emotions ran through his mind and he felt his blood start to boil. He turned down the alleyway and followed the figure down multiple alleys before it entered a building that was still under construction. Opening the door slightly he slipped through the tiny opening and scanned the darkness for the figure.

Finding nothing he assumed that he was just imagining things and decided to leave to but before he could he a heard a low growl from behind him and before he could turn he heard the sound of loud impact.

Bang

The problem was that the noise came from the creature hitting Aaron and launching him across the room. He couldn't form any words but was luckily able to catch his breath and keep himself from passing out due to pain.

Huff Huff Huff

The creature took it robe off and revealed its foul green body, the same one from Aaron's dreams. Aaron wanted to charge at it and starting hitting it but was unable to move a single bone in his body.

Huff Huff Huff

The troll walked towards him slowly taking steps a third of the size as the ones when he followed it. Aaron's rage burned inside but it was for naught as all he could do was wait for his death.

Once the troll reached him, he could see its mouth contort into a smile and it started to raise its hand. Blinking, the next moment he opened his eyes he saw a giant green hand hurtle towards him. Knowing that he couldn't stop it, he closed his eyes again and waited for the outcome.
