Be Careful What You Wish For
Wen Huiliang's life was shit.
Not the kind of "oh no, I had a bad day" kind of shit, but the kind of soul-crushing, mind-numbing,
"I want to drown myself in the river" kind of shit.
Every day was the same: Wake up, drag himself through work, deal with annoying customers, pretend he didn't hear his neighbors screaming at each other, eat cheap instant noodles, then pass out in his tiny, miserable apartment.
Rinse and repeat.
He had no family that cared, no friends who checked in, and no dreams that hadn't already been stomped into the ground. The only escape he had left was reading web novels, and even those were starting to piss him off.
Like now.
Wen Huiliang squinted at the glowing screen of his phone, lips twisting in pure disgust as he scrolled through the latest chapter.
"I have to find a way back home," the protagonist said, clenching his fists with determination. "I don't belong in this world."
Wen Huiliang's eye twitched.
"Home?! You ungrateful bastard! You got transported to a world of sword fights and immortality, and you wanna go back to taxes and student loans?! SWITCH WITH ME!"
"Crazy bastard," he muttered, eyes narrowed.
He was gripping his phone so tight his fingers ached. Why did these fictional characters get all the luck? Why was he stuck here, drowning in mediocrity? If only—if only he could take their place…
"Just take me somewhere else. Anywhere else. Please."
The words came out like a prayer, his voice almost desperate as he stared at the cracked screen, hoping, just for a moment, that something—anything—would change.
With a frustrated sigh, he stood up, running a hand through his hair. His phone slipped from his grasp and hit the floor with a dull thud.
He glared down at it, the novel's glowing text still mocking him from the screen.
"You too can't handle this bullshit, huh?" he muttered dryly.
Then, in the most bullshit twist of fate, his foot landed directly on the phone.
The device slid out from under him, and he lost his balance.
"Shit—!"
He lurched forward, his skull colliding hard with the metal bed rail. A sharp, blinding pain shot through his head, his vision wavered, and everything started spinning.
His last conscious thought before darkness swallowed him whole?
"That fucking novel better not be the last thing I ever see—"
Wen Huiliang's vision blurred as he regained consciousness, only to find himself standing in a place straight out of a dream—or a high-budget fantasy drama.
Everything was bathed in blue turquoise, as though the very air itself shimmered. Four jade pillars stood like silent sentinels, holding up the heavens in this serene world. A pond, still and perfect, reflected the endless sky above, filled with koi fish—pink and light blue—who swam gracefully between soft lotus flowers, their delicate petals brushing against pearls that shimmered beneath the water.
At the center of this tranquil space, a throne stood alone. It was crafted of jade as well, its intricate carvings giving it an ethereal, almost otherworldly feel.
And sitting upon the throne…
A figure like no other.
The person before him seemed to belong to a realm beyond his comprehension. Their long, flowing white hair cascaded down like a waterfall of moonlight, framing an ethereal face that seemed untouched by time. Each strand of hair moved on its own, catching the soft light that enveloped the entire scene.
Their eyes were piercing, deep, as though they held centuries of wisdom—or perhaps untold secrets—that they weren't ready to share. A knowing smile played at their lips, a smile that spoke of mysteries and promises unspoken.
Draped in flowing garments of the lightest silk, the colors of light blue and white, their attire shimmered like mist. The sheer fabric seemed to float, teasing the outline of their frame as they moved with an elegance that defied description. Delicate silver embroidery traced the edges, catching the ambient light like stars in a twilight sky.
With a single silver earring glinting at their ear, and chains draped subtly across their exposed collarbone, they looked like a celestial being—a noble spirit from another age, a dream brought to life.
But despite their serene beauty, there was a subtle energy about them—something that tugged at the very air, something almost dangerous.
Wen Huiliang stared at them, completely taken aback. His words faltered as he stood before them, and then…
The figure before him covered their mouth as if struggling to contain something. They were silent for a moment.
And then, suddenly, they burst into laughter, their amusement filling the space. Their voice, clear and melodious, echoed in the air.
"I can't believe you died before I realized your wish…" The system's voice rang with disbelief, laced with a strange, mischievous joy. "Hahaha!"
Wen Huiliang, still slightly disoriented, stared in silence.
The system's hands flew to their face dramatically, blinking excessively. They took a deep, exaggerated breath, their expression a mix of mock surprise and annoyance, and then imitated Wen Huiliang in a sing-song voice:
"Just take me somewhere else. Anywhere else. Pleaseee."
A vein on their forehead popped in irritation.
Wen Huiliang couldn't suppress the corner of his mouth twitching as he watched the display, the sight oddly amusing to him.
But before the system could continue, Wen Huiliang moved.
With surprising speed and grace, he walked toward the throne, his gaze unwavering.
Before the system could react, Wen Huiliang, without warning, gripped their waist and—
BAM!
In an instant, Wen Huiliang had performed a German suplex, slamming the system down onto the ground.
The elegant, celestial figure, once seated like an untouchable deity, was now sprawled upside-down, momentarily stunned.
Wen Hu dusted his hands off, strode up to the throne, and sat—crossing his legs, leaning back like he owned the place.
He inspected his nails, casually blowing on them, before finally looking down at the crumpled figure beneath him with a slow, lazy smirk.
"You were saying?"

Explanation section :
Wu Yi Xian Shi isn't just a comedy Danmei but have sensible content too.
The system's name is Bai Zhen (白真). A name that carries an air of elegance, yet the owner of it is anything but. With laughter always on the edge of his lips and mischief woven into his every word, Bai Zhen is not here to guide—he is here to amuse himself.
The protagonist, Wen Huiliang (温会亮), bears a name that should belong to someone bright, someone full of promise. And yet, life has only given him endless monotony and misfortune. "Wen Hu" is the name he shortens it to, sharp and simple—just like the reckless choices he makes without hesitation.
Then, there is Qin Mao (秦茂). His name speaks of prosperity, of flourishing strength. But names are merely names, and behind his cold expression lies something else entirely.
And for those wondering—Bai Zhen is not the love interest.
Wen Hu has enough problems without falling in love with an infuriating system.
