Sunday, October 31st 874 N.E (New Era)
A teenage boy, around 16, with messy black hair and a school uniform named Kairo, walks along a dirt path lined with wooden fences. The sun is setting, casting an orange glow over the small village in the distance. * CRACKLE, POP* the leaves go as he's walking through the dusty path home. Walking joyfully he can't wait to get home! Today is the day he gets his exam results that will get him into the school he had been dreaming of since a little kid! Just a moment later everything changes.
His once smile, had now faded into a dark jaw dropping frown. It's the village. His eyes widen with fear as he hears distinct screams in the distance. "No… No way…" The boy says. He rushes home, checking if his family is okay. As he walks in his burning home he is left speechless. both of his parents extremely wounded with gashes to their stomach. "N-no, Mom NO! Who could do such a thing" His mom is unconscious possibly dead. He breaks into tears "Not you too Dad" Suddenly, a faint pulsing glow appears underneath the boy's shirt, directly over his heart. *THUMP... THUMP* the boy's heart racing... "What is this feeling...?"
One of the attackers, a tall figure with a jagged black Essence Mark glowing across his face, steps toward the boy, smirking. His mark pulses like a heartbeat. "Poor kid. Guess your Mark hasn't awakened yet, oh, and your family? That was all my doing" The attacker with a devilish smirk on his face taunts the boy. The boy drops to his knees, clutching his chest as the glow of the essence intensifies. Jagged lines appear all over his skin, representing a symbol. The boy screams in pain "Aghhhh, what is this pain. HELP!" The attackers smile fades as the light grows brighter... and brighter. "No, it can't be! There's no way, this idiot kid of all people...?"
"What... Did you do... TO MY VILLAGE!" The boy's mark starts to erupt, in a flash of black and white. "Not this kid, there is no POSSIBLE way a puny kid like you could possibly awaken the Yin and YANG." "What is happening to me! Aghhhh." The boy grabs the knife that was lodged into his dad, taking it and moving at the speed of light, he slices the villains head off. "N-N-No wa-" The villain says before he is decapitated. At that moment that boy was no longer himself, almost as if he was being controlled by some sort of... Demon.
