A deep sleep, one so deep that someone might believe that it'll never end. Lasting so long until they finally decide to open their eyes. This person finally escaped that deep sleep, opening their eyes to see nothing but a white void. They saw no grass, no space, simply nothing around them to find. Trying to understand what's going on they looked down to their hands that were not there, as they realized they were nothing but formless but sentient being. However, as they thought about their body that began to change, gaining form and regaining their humanoid form though it was featureless. Looking around once more allowed them to see they were not alone as just in front of them another similar humanoid and featureless form was being created.
They tried to speak out and greet them, but no words could be said no matter how hard they tried, so they simply waved with their new hand, and despite the terrifyingly strange situation seeing another person just like them in the same situation made them happy. It made them so happy that they were unaware their featureless face had gained a mouth that had turned to a bright and wide smile. The other person looked around in the same way just to discover the same situation, before waving back seemingly feeling the same as a similar smile met them and filled them with joy.
Once they both greeted each other, they started to try and move around more, controlling themselves before accidentally floating over and slamming into one another. Instinctively they held onto each other after this, looking at each other and smiling again. They looked at the endless white void once more as a single word was seemingly forced into their heads. Create, and that word lingered on in their minds for what felt like ages, but they could only think of how they would even do so. Separating from one another as they started to gain a semblance of control of the direction they floated in, both thinking hard as they tried to create something, anything, but to no avail, they couldn't force it even as they tried to bring something into existence. However, one of them took a moment, thinking about their past life before thinking about something simple, colors. The moment they thought about colors they thought about their favorite color orange, the bright vibrant color of a campfire blaze. Soon enough their form even turned into that same blaze-like color looking down at their body as it felt like they truly started to create. The other person saw them change color, once again following their example as they thought about the colors as well despite this blank white void around them. They thought of their own favorite color, an azure blue, the gentle calm color of the sky or the clear water. Both of them identified with their colors, smiles growing on their faces as they had a small shared thought, identifying each other with their color, both Azure, and Blaze.
They both began to float around, still uneasy with the feeling as they tried to think of not only what to create, but how to create. Azure thought once more to their past life, what they used to do before they thought about their old paintings, each methodical picture they created, filled with the emotions of the time. A new fresh paintbrush falling into their hand. In their moment of inspiration they looked around before taking that brush and slowly swiping it across the air turning that white void into a black background. Each gentle brush and swipe painting the very world around them, as Azure created this background Blaze couldn't help but join in.
Blaze followed the same path, thinking back on their life, the many worlds they created in their writing, inspired in every moment as they sought to fill out the picture Azure was creating. A nice old notebook and pen falling into their hands as they described the scene they wished to see each line appearing alongside the gentle brushstrokes of Azure. The many white bright stars appear in the sky, following behind the brush, as soon enough the two had worked together to create a beautiful and vibrant, but empty space. However, the sight alone of what they have begun to create left them stunned once they stopped for a moment to admire it. Drifting close together, holding onto one another as they simply had to stop for a moment and take in the vast space they had created together.
This moment of mesmerization and bonding was cut short as they knew they had so much more to do. Azure being the first to split off as they take their brush, drifting off far into space as they begin to move their brush once more. The methodical strokes that now focused on adding even more beautiful though scary parts of the universe. The galaxies that fill the universe soon come to life as Azure moves their brush in various different ways, no galaxy being made the same. Azure knew they wanted them all to be different in some way, some painted in a smooth and easy spiral while some were made with erratic dots, strokes and more as it all centers around a strong core. Azure continued on, galaxy after galaxy being brought into existence with every star and sun appearing inside as they created the space.
This beauty was combined with the growing description of Blaze, each star upon closer look becoming colorful with different types ranging from red, blue, yellow and more. A smile crawled onto Azure's face as they saw the stars changing color from their original white glow, changing all around them as they looked back at Blaze and saw how they were adding detail to every scene. Azure felt the need for even more color as they finished their last galaxy, and moved on to a different style, creating groups of gas, plasma and dust of various colors. Each movement of the brush created a new shape, swirls and circles before mashing their brush into the environment creating shapes that they couldn't even predict as they started to move and form like the dripping wet paint on a canvas.
Time started to pass as barely stopped for even a moment, hours, days, weeks, years. For them time was no longer a concept, as they only had one objective and that was to create what they thought was beautiful. Part after part they added to the universe, each brush stroke, each movement of the pen created a new object, or detail. The universe slowly became vibrant, colorful, full and simply amazing in their eyes. However, even with the universe becoming full they felt like it wasn't done, and much more was needed, but what did it need? They looked at themselves and realized they needed a world, or rather many worlds, and life like they had before.
Smiling to each other, almost laughing at forgetting something like that, so important yet so small in the grand scheme of what they had already made. Looking at one another as they simply embrace one another in a tight hug, before quickly separating and getting to work once again. Planet after planet was made, differing in design and color, some were scorching hot deserts, some were cold frostbite like tundras, some were made of pure rock while others were only an endless ocean. Each planet was special with a different balance, each with a purpose in the galaxies. Of course they couldn't help but create those peaceful hybrid planets just like the one they lived on before.
After creating many planets that spanned for millions upon millions of miles, Blaze decided to try and plant just a small seed of life on every planet they had made, writing down the many possibilities that could exist, but they were unable to bring about the same life they knew, trees, grass and more failing to be made. The power of life, adaptation, evolution and survival only being a small possibility in the universe even as the stars they created light years away had begun to burst, finally succumbing to the inevitably of time and cycles of the universe. What felt like seconds to Blaze and Azure was many years for the universe they had created. The cycles of existence had already begun from the very moment they brought them into life. Despite the time that had passed now they still felt the need to do more, but now with everything they could think of being made, they failed to force something new into the universe and Blaze stopped writing for a moment, no longer attempting to force it.
A small frown crept onto Azure's face, before Blaze took their hand with a smile, as they floated down onto a planet that was the last one they had created before they accidentally were stopped by their own minds. Blaze led Azure down as they floated down onto the barren and frankly empty surface of the planet. For the first time in what could be seen as eons they stood and stepped on the ground, their past lives flashing before their eyes. A shared thought between the two was all it took to take a moment and bask in the familiar feeling, Azure tossing aside their brush as Blaze tossed the book and pen. Taking each other's hand as they started to run across the empty surface of the planet with joy in their hearts even as they stumbled in their steps. They recalled once again to their lives, and began to dance, though sloppy at first as they were now unfamiliar with walking and moving on the ground. However, that didn't stop them for even a moment as Blaze misstepped and fell to the ground, holding Azure's hand and dragging them down with them by accident. This didn't stop their excitement for every second as they laid on the ground, looking around at the soft but bristling grass that had sprouted from the ground around them. Their joy about the lives they had lived before bringing out the life they desperately wanted to create before.
They got up again as they began to dance once more, step after step, a twirl here and a spin there. They danced across the entire planet as the sun for this galaxy shone on their strange colored, but familiar humanoid bodies, looking like a happy human couple from a distance. Grass, plants, trees and more came along behind them. They finally stopped as they looked around, holding one another close as they were simply inseparable, Blaze picked up a small rock smiling before throwing it with force into the air, as it soon turned into a massive hawk soaring through the new blue sky that had come to life. They continued to dance, play, and more now that they were no longer focused on creating, and simply wanted to enjoy themselves on one of the worlds they had created, one that they had made to relive the lives they sometimes missed.
The two lost themselves in this joy, each movement bringing something new to life, no longer caring about their surroundings. The scrapping of their feet through the dirt created rivers, each fall they made as they missed a step created a crater. Their movements soon molded the world around them, and before they knew it they had started to laugh. They enjoyed themselves to the fullest as their laughs of pure joy filled the air, sound soon reaching their ears as well with the surroundings becoming their melody. After eons in space they had forgotten about sound, looking at each other without a word needing to be said as they simply continued now focused on the sound they were able to make like kids in a splashing puddle. The beat of their steps, the chirp of the birds, the continuous flow of the river and the slap of fruits falling onto the rocks, each and every second was taken in. Blaze separated from Azure as they dived into the ocean listening to the rhythmic but chaotic flow of the ocean waves as they swam through the water, each stroke through the water creating a brand new wave. They floated and swam through every inch of the underwater, moving around each other, bouncing off one another, touching the ocean floor as they left behind a vibrant life behind them.
Blaze soon left the water, stepping onto land once again, looking at the world that was unrecognizable to the barren land that knew before. Azure soon joined them as they saw the continuous life around them, birds, trees, squirrels and various more pieces of life flowing around them as if they were always there around them. Walking through the same place they first stepped down on the planet, walking through the forest, an apple falling from a tree and hitting Blaze's head causing a chuckle to escape Azure, as they continued to leave a trail of refreshed grass around them.
Both of them took a deep breath as though they were tired, smiling at what they had made, walking back to their tools that they had discarded and picking them up once again. They looked around for the last time at this world as they took in the most basic parts, the dirt, the grass, the water, the vibrant and dark colors all around them from the darkest blue to the brightest green they could see.
They left their favorite planet as they began to look at all the other planets, planting the life they desired to create different and diverse in their own special ways. Azure went off into the other galaxies, painting the different planets with their own forms of green and life while Blaze described the very beginning to life, and the eventual end as yet another supernova occurred in the distant light years away, distracting and stunning both of them for one seemingly endless moment. Years continued to pass, though they were separated for the first time, they were happy regardless as they felt their first purpose soon to be complete. Create, their very first true thought in this strange life they were given as the universe around them was brought to true life by them and they barely felt like a single moment truly passed. Their creation was truly self-sustaining now, with the cycles, the lives, the endless bits and pieces that worked every little second to make the beautiful universe that they now loved work as it should.
Azure and Blaze came back together, surprisingly to the very first spot they started to create in. Looking around one more time as they embraced, seeing the many nebulas before seeing one special nebula not very far from them. Drifting and floating over to the trifid nebula, as it shined with a bright blue, and bright fire like orange. They soon embraced one another in that nebula, holding each other as it felt like they were at true peace. The nebula almost seemed to orbit around them like they were the very core of it. Time seemed to stop for them as they once again were focused only on each other, as their hearts were filled with joy, and happiness. They looked at one another, before their minds slowly drifted off into another deep sleep from which no one knows when, if ever they would awaken once again to experience their impossible, but beautiful creation.
