Chereads / A love Letter / Chapter 2 - 2 Jasmine King

Chapter 2 - 2 Jasmine King

Jasmine King. An outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic person. She loves video games, art, food, and, most importantly, sleep.

Jasmine was born in Japan but moved to England right after her birth. Jasmine's parents wanted to raise her in their homeland, at least for a few years.

Jasmine's father had planned on moving back to Japan sometime in the future, although he didn't know when exactly. After Jasmine turned two, both her parents decided it'd be a smart choice to move back to Japan while Jasmine was still young.

Moving back later down the line, while Jasmine was in her early teens, would make things much more complicated, especially considering the difficulty of learning a new language. It'd be much easier for Jasmine to learn Japanese in Japan, while she was still very young and would find it easy to adapt.

Jasmine's parents finally made their choice. They decided to relocate to Japan. At first, they had decided to move to Tokyo but quickly scrapped the idea.

They decided to relocate to Kusatsu, a charming town in Shiga Prefecture, with a population of about 120,000. Jasmine's parents decided to raise their daughter in this town.

Turning six, Jasmine attended elementary school, this would be where she met her first friend. Atara Sasaki.

At first shy and introverted, Jasmine broke the ice between them. Although Atara was very quiet and introverted he did have friends, he found it hard to communicate with new people, so he would refrain from talking to anyone other than his circle of friends he managed to make.

Both Jasmine and Atara later attended the same middle school and high school. In high school, Atara's personality changed completely, and he expressed his gratitude to Jasmine for this transformation. He credited her as the reason for his change, admiring her extroverted nature and her ability to easily make friends and hold conversations. Inspired by her, Atara decided to change as well.

PRESENT

*RING RING* The school bell indicating the end of the school day resonated confidently throughout the halls. Jasmine organized her desk with purpose, swiftly packing her stationery away.

Before leaving Jasmine looked around curiously, "where's Atara?" Jasmine asked herself.

Without thinking much about it Jasmine left and headed towards the exit of the school. She reached her locker and took her shoes out.

Jasmine periodically turned to look at the stairs expecting Atara to walk down any moment. Jasmine stayed for two minutes before exiting the school building.

Before taking off, she finally took one last look. Tilting her torso sideways to get a better view of the stairs behind the lockers.

Jasmine's face lit up, she couldn't get a clear view because the locker blocked a lot of the stairs, but she was almost certain that the jet-black hair she could make out was Atara's.

She sped back into the school building, locking her eyes on the stairs; she stopped at the end of the lockers, waiting patiently.

The footsteps got closer as Jasmine waited eagerly. The person is finally visible to Jasmine, "huh..? Kobayashi Fumiko?" Jasmine says with disappointment in her voice.

Jasmine sighed and turned around to finally go home; most students had already left school. Jasmine didn't want to stay behind for too long.

She stepped outside, instantly noticing something odd, "when did it get this dark?" Jasmine asked herself in a concerned tone. She frantically searched for her phone to get the time but couldn't seem to find it anywhere.

"OH! I'll ask Kobayashi!" Jasmine thought. Just as Jasmine turned her head, she was met with Kobayashi's face around two centre metres away from hers. Kobayashi was smiling ear to ear, her hair was not covering her eyes, and her eyes were hollowed out, pitch black.

Jasmine let out a blood-curdling scream and jumped back instinctually, falling on her shoulder. Having a clear view now, she saw that Kobayashi's limbs were thinner and much longer, they were long enough to be able to touch the ground while standing straight. Her face was upside down, with her neck twisted in all sorts of ways, her hair longer, and her skin paler making her look like a sickly patient on the verge of death. Kobayashi had blood all over her pale face, with some flowing out of her hollow eyes.

Jasmine's eyes blurred, crying in despair and fear. Jasmine started crawling with her arms while facing Kobayashi; she threw trash and rocks in a desperate attempt to stop Kobayashi from progressing towards her. Jasmine quickly realized this was futile, rubbish and rocks wouldn't work.

Jasmine quickly got on her legs and sprinted with hopes of reaching her house as soon as possible. Walking to and from school would take Jasmine four minutes, but because she was sprinting it would take her around two.

Jasmine cried harder, not knowing how long she had to sprint before she reached her house.

After what felt like an eternity, Jasmine finally got a glimpse of the left turn she took to reach her house. A wave of relief washed over her, she took the left and bolted as fast as she could inside her house, closing the door behind her as fast as possible.

She was finally in her home, she felt secure. She leaned against the front door and dropped, she cried as hard as she could. A few minutes pass, she calms down and assesses her situation. Her house was dark; she thought this was weird, but she was safe as long as she was in the house, so she didn't care.

"Jasmine honey, help mum, set the table up." Jasmine breathed a sigh of relief as she heard her mum. "Be there in a sec, mum," Jasmine says, still in a state of shock and fear.

Jasmine headed to the kitchen, "I'm here, Mum; what do you want me to set up?" Jasmine questioned, "Oh, honey you don't have to do much, just place the food on the table, it's in the oven." Mum said with a joyful voice.

Jasmine opens the oven to be met with a foul smell; she looks inside, "WHAT. THE. FUCK." Jasmine said out loud, wearing a disgusted and fearful face.

Her eyes start to tear up again. She feels thin long fingers on her shoulder, "It's your favourite, brainstem, and eyeballs." A voice whispered in Jasmine's ear, sounding like nails against a chalkboard.

Jasmine's body jerks as she retches violently. She drops to her knees and crawls to the corner of the kitchen. She turns around to be met with both her parents smiling ear to ear; their necks have stitches, and their eyes are gone.

Jasmine screams, crying hard, she puts her hands on her head and starts pulling her hair out. "PLEASE, PLEASE BE A FUCKING DREAM." She begs. She's interrupted. ""HONEY, LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER. SET THE TABLE, ITS TIME TO EAT." Jasmine's dad said, angrily.

"FUCK PLEASE SOMEONE, ANYONE HELP." cried Jasmine. Just then, Jasmine spots a glass bottle on the dining table; her possessed parents stand behind the table, so grabbing the bottle won't pose a big challenge. She calms down and slowly gets up.

Jasmine springs to the bottle and grips it tightly. Jasmine smashes the bottle making the bottle sharp. She quickly jumps on the dining table and springs to her possessed mother, tears flowing. She repeatedly stabs her in the neck and mouth until she is completely motionless.

Just as Jasmine goes in for another stab, she feels something warm trickling down her back, "A hand? No that can't be it." Jasmine says worriedly; she looks down and bursts into tears; she cries silently, looking down on top of her bleeding mother.

It was a hand, a hand through her chest, she felt the blood draining from her. Jasmine's eyesight slowly became blurry. *Thud, she hit the ground head first.

"f-fuck you Kobayashi..." Jasmine closed her eyes, losing all the strength to open them.

Jasmine jolts awake screaming, falling to the classroom floor, dropping her phone, her hair a mess, and her eyes teary. She feels her chest, "n-nothing?" Jasmine said tearing up and a face of relief.

"JASMINE KING, DO NOT SLEEP IN MY CLASS!" The teacher yelled, Jasmine looked around to find everyone staring at her. She didn't care as long as what she experienced was a nightmare. Nothing else mattered.

Jasmine apologized, picking her seat back up and sitting back down. Jasmine turned back around to where she fell and stretched her hand out to retrieve her phone; she happened to catch a glimpse of Kobayashi. Jasmine's eyes widened in fear, "w-why is s-she wearing the same expression as in the dream?" Jasmine was horrified, "was it really a dream?" Her eyes once again start to go blurry, as tears run down her face. "F-fuck, I'm s-so fucked." Jasmine stuttered, wearing an expression of horror.
