Nighttime - A Haunting Dream
Roy was deep in sleep when the nightmare seized him.
He stood in a ruined city, its streets swallowed by chaos. The sky burned crimson, casting long, writhing shadows over the crumbling buildings. Dark, monstrous creatures prowled through the wreckage, their twisted forms a grotesque fusion of muscle and malice. Screams rang out—raw, desperate—people running, falling, vanishing into the darkness.
His breath came in ragged gasps as he spotted his family huddled inside an armored car, their eyes wide with terror. He took a step toward them—
"Run! They're coming from the left!"
"No! Escape to the right!"
"Behind you! Get out now!"
The voices battered his ears, overlapping, distorting. His heart pounded so hard it threatened to break his ribs. Even the animals weren't spared—he saw a dog split apart, its body twisting into something unholy, its eyes glowing with hunger.
Then, out of nowhere, a memory surfaced—he was four years old. Fear had always lurked around his family, but he had never understood why.
A monstrous shadow loomed, its claws stretching toward him. The moment they grazed his skin—
Roy jolted awake.
His chest heaved. His bedsheets clung to his damp skin. The darkness of his room felt suffocating, like the nightmare hadn't quite let go.
But something was different.
Morning - A New Reality Unfolds
Heat pulsed beneath his skin—not painful, but warm, alive. Then, an unexpected sensation—a cool breeze wrapped around him, stirring the air.
Roy sat up, his hands trembling. Slowly, he raised his right palm. The heat pooled, intensified—
A flame flickered to life.
He gasped, instinctively jerking back, but the fire didn't burn him. It swayed, steady and weightless, as if waiting for his command.
He turned to his left hand. A soft gust of wind curled around his fingers, playful yet powerful. He hesitated, then brought both hands together.
The wind didn't smother the fire. It fed it.
The flames burned brighter, dancing in sync with the currents of air. He flexed his fingers, watching the elements respond as though they had always belonged to him.
"Fire and wind… I have both?" His voice was barely a whisper.
"The legends were true… I've awakened my elemental powers."
Excitement surged through him, but beneath it, a thread of unease. This wasn't normal. This wasn't possible.
And yet, it was.
He needed to test it.
Raising his hand, he sent a small stream of fire toward the ceiling—but it shot up too fast, too strong. He flinched, yanking it back just in time. His heart pounded. Control it, Roy.
He tried again. A gentler flicker this time. Better.
Next, the wind. He focused, directing it toward a pen on his desk. The pen wobbled, lifted—then shot toward him like a missile. He barely dodged in time.
"Okay… maybe a little more practice."
A grin tugged at his lips. He had power. He just needed to master it.
Family Gathering
"Dad! Mom! Big Bro! Look at this!"
His father, Ravindra, his mother, Sharvani, and his older brother, Siddharth, turned toward him.
"What is it, Roy?" Siddharth asked, raising an eyebrow.
Roy didn't answer. He extended his hand—and fire flared to life, swirling gently as the wind coiled around it.
Silence.
Ravindra stepped closer, his eyes dark with thought. "Incredible…"
Sharvani clasped her hands together, eyes shining with both joy and something deeper—a quiet understanding. "We always knew you were special, Roy."
Siddharth grinned, ruffling Roy's hair. "Not bad, little bro. Looks like we've got some serious training ahead."
Roy felt pride swell in his chest—but beneath it, questions stirred. "It feels amazing, but... what does it mean for me? What comes next?"
His family exchanged knowing glances.
Unlike him, they all possessed the water element—supportive, healing, but not meant for combat. But their true strength wasn't in fighting.
It was in science.
The Roy family wasn't just any family. They were pioneers in mech development, secretly working on a project that merged biotechnology with elemental energy. They had spent years creating advanced mechs, fusing them with the DNA of powerful elemental beasts, adapting them to their user's abilities.
And now, Roy was about to receive one.
The Unveiling of the Super Mech
Ravindra's expression turned serious. "There's something we've been preparing for you. Come."
He led Roy to a pedestal where a sleek, futuristic bracelet rested. It shimmered in pitch black, smooth as obsidian.
The moment Roy touched it, a pulse of heat surged through his arm—alive, responding to him. The bracelet flickered, shifting into fiery reds and oranges with streaks of cool blue.
His fingers curled around it.
"This is for your protection," Ravindra explained. "It's designed to help you control your powers. Never use it against humans unless absolutely necessary. But when facing monsters and beasts—hesitation will get you killed. Strike first, or be devoured."
Roy's breath caught. "You made this… for me?"
Ravindra nodded. "This is the first prototype. Since you have two elements, you'll be able to use it more effectively. We combined DNA from 35 different monsters to create this suit. If you find more unique beasts in the future, we can upgrade it even further."
Siddharth smirked. "You'll be heading to military training soon. This suit will be your greatest weapon—and your greatest shield."
Roy carefully slid the device onto his wrist. The moment it made contact, a soft chime rang out.
"Pi pi! Greetings, user!"
Roy blinked. "It talks?"
The bracelet's interface lit up, forming the playful animation of a cute girl.
"Pi pi! I'm your AI assistant. How may I help you?"
Siddharth nudged him. "You can't just call it 'bracelet.' Give it a name."
Roy watched the swirling energy within it—fire and wind in perfect harmony. A name clicked.
"FlameWing," he declared.
"Pi pi! Name registered! This mech is now 'FlameWing,' your personal battle assistant!"
Then, the AI's voice chimed again.
"Pi pi! Would you like to give me a name too?"
Roy chuckled. "You don't have a name?" He thought for a moment. "How about… Mimi?"
"Pi pi! Name registered! I am now Mimi, your AI companion!"
Roy grinned. "Nice to meet you, Mimi. Can you analyze my powers?"
"Analyzing… you have fire and wind elemental abilities. Your fire is stronger, making it ideal for offense, while wind enhances speed and mobility. Your suit has adapted accordingly."
Roy felt the bracelet shift slightly, syncing with his energy.
This wasn't just a tool.
It was a part of him now.
Looking Ahead
Ravindra placed a firm hand on Roy's shoulder. "The world outside isn't safe. This device will protect you, but you must stay vigilant."
Roy nodded. "I'll be careful. I'll protect everyone I love."
That evening, he tested his mech. FlameWing enhanced his wind abilities, letting him hover just above the ground. For the first time in his life, he flew.
Then, Siddharth stepped forward. "Enough playing around. Let's train your firepower. Attack me."
Roy hesitated. "Be careful, big bro."
He launched a fireball—too fast, too strong. It exploded on impact, sending heat waves rippling through the air. Siddharth barely shielded himself.
"Control it, Roy!" he warned. "You're not just wielding fire—you are the fire."
Roy swallowed hard. His journey was just beginning.
