Chapter 1 - The Descent of the Mad Astralborn

Isaac stood in horror as he watched the sun descend closer to the earth. The celestial body shining of heat had a vertical slit down its face. Greeting the lands below the sun stared with its eye opened, spectating the life and hustle that quickly stopped. In this waking moment life became a standstill. Nothing moved, nothing dared to move.

Isaac's eyes stared into the eye feeling a growing sense of heat, no, it was something more, something toxic, dangerous. He felt as if his very soul was stained- infected by something otherworldly. As he could feel his metaphorical self beginning to fade as his field of view darken and close, he became afraid. His ears started ringing a blank sound, an emptiness that seemed to echo of madness. It all eventually overcame him, a mortal, someone as useless and pathetic as poor old Isaac could do nothing but accept the world's end.

Isaac felt the minutes and hours tick by as he kept staring at the sun, he tried to scream but only pain came instead. When it all became too unbearable, warm as well as something almost poisoning him to his core.

It came to a sudden stop as Isaac stumbled around trying to catch his balance and he stared up at the sun once again. He pondered if it all had been a mirage, but the sun had moved considerably closer to the earth compared to before. He squinted his eyes as he felt the safe warmth of the sun hitting his skin again, looking up at the ball of light high up in the sky Isaac focused his attention on his village.

Sitting on the edge of the eastern continent far away from the eldritch monster and demonic entities that has seen a resurgence in the northern continent he has never once been a witness to a tale, only a avid listener. He now was not as certain anymore. His breath hiked, his heartbeat spiked as he tried his best to scream for help of any kind but he puked a disturbing mix of a glowing essence and pulsating blood.

Isaac saw his once regular village turn into a dreadful nightmare as his neighbors, friends and family turned into hallowed husks. A mix of yellow and orange fiery matter oozed out of their eyes and mouth as arched, pointing to the sun as they stood in odd irregular stances. Others merely stood straight up, others leaned backwards with strength not possessed by his neighbors.

They behaved more like zombies than anything Isaac had seen before.
