Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Whispers of the Past

The mist thinned as he stepped forward, revealing more of his surroundings. Ancient trees loomed in the distance, their gnarled roots stretching across the damp earth. The air was heavy with the scent of rain and something older—something almost sacred.

The figure did not attack again. Instead, it watched, its glowing eyes unreadable. Then, without warning, it raised its hand, and the mist parted further, revealing a pathway leading deeper into the unknown.

"Follow, if you seek the truth."

Hesitation gripped him for only a second before he moved. His heart pounded as he stepped onto the path, the ground beneath him feeling almost… familiar. Each step carried a weight he did not understand, as if he had walked this road before.

The figure drifted ahead, guiding him without a word. The deeper they went, the colder the air became. Shadows flickered at the edges of his vision—whispers, just beyond hearing.

Then, he saw it.

A structure hidden within the trees—ancient, crumbling, yet unmistakable. Symbols he could not read were carved into the stone, glowing faintly as if calling to him.

His breath caught. He had been here before.

A memory surged forward—flashes of firelight, the clash of steel, voices raised in urgency. And then, a name.

His name.

His eyes widened, his pulse racing. The figure turned to him one last time.

"Now, remember."
