Chapter 1 – The Rejected Story
The room was dark. The only light came from the computer screen.
A new email appeared. He clicked on it and started reading.
"Dear Author, we have reviewed your novel and regret to inform you that it does not meet our content guidelines. Due to excessive brutality and dark themes, we cannot offer you a contract."
His hands clenched into fists.
His book had been rejected.
The novel he had worked on for so long. The story he had planned so carefully. All of it was being turned down like it was nothing.
"Too brutal?" he muttered. His lips curled slightly, but there was no humor in it. "Then what about all those other novels? The ones filled with blood and war?"
He let out a deep breath.
He wasn't just disappointed. He was angry.
This book was his hard work, his effort, his time. And now, all of it was worthless.
His eyes moved to the "Delete Novel" button.
A message popped up:
"Are you sure? This action cannot be undone."
He stared at the screen. His mind told him to stop. But another part of him… didn't care anymore.
If no one wanted his story, then why should it exist?
Click.
The moment he pressed the button, the screen flickered.
A bright white light exploded from it, swallowing everything.
His body felt light, like he was floating. His vision blurred.
Then—
Darkness.
