Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Silver bullet, multiple entry points"

The nurse panted as she handed a steel instrument to a woman in a white coat. The woman narrowed her eyes and turned her attention to the young man's wound. He was quickly loosing blood. She expertly extracted the smashed silver bullet fragments, her hands moved with precision, her eyes calm in that face of emergency. She sighed in relief, the fragments were finally out and his wounds were rapidly healing.

"Whew! That was close" she whispered.

"You did a good job Doctor Violet" the middle aged nurse praised her.

She smiled softly as she lowered her head in a bow, her expression and posture totally different from her serious demeanor earlier.

"Thank you, I was just doing my job."

"Doctor Violet!"

"Yes" she searched for who was calling her.

"The chief wants to see you"

"Alright" she replied, darting a puzzled look at the nurse as she passed.

She knocked softly on the iron door.

"Come in"

She immediately entered with her head bowed.

"You asked to see me Alpha...I mean Chief"

The man sighed as he glanced at her. "Raise your head"

"Thank you"

"Violet..." he began in a sombre voice, his dark eyes stared straight at her, her heart thumped with trepidation. Had she done anything wrong.

"...today is your last day here"

"What!" She squeaked out, her green eyes were opened wide almost to the point of popping out of their sockets. "B..but alpha...i mean Chief. I haven't done anything wrong, I've been a good worker with no complaints" her voice was shaking and her eyes were already getting misty.

"Ha ha ha!" The chief suddenly burst out laughing, Violet stared at him, midway in tears.

"You haven't done anything wrong. You are just being transferred"

"Oh thank the goddess" she breathed out before sliding to the ground in relief since her legs were too weak to stand.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes sir, let me just get myself back up" she squeezed out as she shakily got to her feet.

"Alright" he cleared his throat and continued speaking, "You are being transferred to a pack that is in dire need of a pack doctor and if you succeed your job there and all goes well, you might be the pack's permanent doctor"

Her breathing became faster as her eyes shone in interest. It was no news that the best thing to ever happen to a doctor was being a pack's doctor. But suddenly, her eyes dimmed, she couldn't take the job.

"But Alpha...I don't know if I can"

"You can." He assured her, "That way...you can finish your research. From what I know about the pack, they have lots of ancient books on history of your study. It might be your breakthrough."

She was silent, her eyes were narrowed in thought, then she pursed her lips.

"Where is the pack, Alpha?"

"That I can't say now. The only thing you need to know is that the pack is one of the most secluded but also the most powerful pack so learn to keep your head down. We will miss you here, but your services are needed elsewhere."

She nodded slowly, her hands crossed tightly together as she answered. "Thank you, Alpha. For everything."

"You are leaving again?"

"I promise I'll be back Xaylia. I will find a cure"

"I don't mind you not getting a cure, I want you with me" the pitiful voice sounded weak in the almost empty room. Violet hid her tears as she clasped her hands of her younger sister.

"Trust me Xaylia, I really want to stay with you that is why I'm doing everything in my power to find the cure. For you and for others."

The young girl with a pale face and a head of black stands caressing her face smiled weakly on the bed which she laid upon.

"I believe you. I will wait for you."

"Thank you" she kissed her hands softly, caressing it with her own hands for a while. Then she picked up her bags, with a soft goodbye she left the room.

"I can do this, I will find you a cure..." she whispered fiercely as she walked, "...and I will find our parents."

She walked towards the gate where she was to be picked, deep in thought.

'Find The Pack That Shines Under The Full Moon's Beam.'

Those were the notes their parents had left for them before they had disappeared three years ago. She had been in her final year and was home for the holiday when suddenly she had heard noises, things being smashed and suddenly silence. The note was the only thing not destroyed as she stepped into the sitting room. Then a year later, Xaylia had come down with the most dressed illness a shifter could have.

The Luna deficiency.

The sickness started with you feeling weak all of a sudden, then you not being able to shift and quickly followed by you losing your wolf. Losing your wolf as a shifter was skin to losing yourself, so your body would do the only thing possible. Die and dissipate into dust, no corpse to bury. For centuries, research had been done but no one had discovered the reason and the cure for it. And now her sister was approaching the stage of losing her wolf, she had to do something, even if it meant moving from one pack to another in search of information. Finding her parents were also a priority, she had a deep feeling inside that finding the place her parents had written about would be a very important clue. Which was why she was okay with being transferred, this new transfer was making it her tenth transfer in two years, she just hoped she would make a breakthrough there. But why was the pack's name and destination a secret anyway, its not like she, an Omega could do anything about it.

"Violet?" A voice growled startling her.

"Y...yes" she stammered in reply, a young man stood in front of her, a black honda behind him. In his hands was a thin piece of black cloth which he held towards her.

"We have to go, but first, you have to put this on".
