Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Chess Game

"Stay away from me!" Jamie thundered trying to run away from the monster in front of her.

His eyes was blazing dark red with his sharp canine teeth piercing out of the side of his mouth.

She turned around in attempt to crawl out of his presence when her hair was gripped forcefully by him "Ahh…"

"You're my property now Angel, " Liam wet lips met with her soft ears and Jamie couldn't help but quiver in fear.

*SOME DAYS BACK*

"Jamie!"

"Jamie!"

"Jamie!"

"I'm coming" She shouted dropping the bucket on her hands down before rushing inside.

"What's this?" She heard her mom voice after stepping into the kitchen.

"What's what?" Jamie asked with a confused look.

"Are you blind?" Her mom roared and she took some steps back before shaking her head.

"Did I asked you to touch the food on the freezer?" Mrs Johnson questioned with anger vivid in her eyes.

"But I was tired so I had to eat something" She said slowly with a low voice.

She has been busy doing the house chores as she was instructed to do by her mother and she got hungry along the way so she had to quickly grab the food from the freezer and microwaved it before dishing herself, was that wrong of her?

Oh yes! In her mother's eyes she committed a deep atrocity by eating that food because she was instructed by her mom not to touch any food till she arrives so she's surely going to pay for disobeying her mother.

"Did you made that food?' Was her mom next question.

"No!" Jamie replied shaking her head.

"Did you worked the money I used in preparing that food?" Mrs Johnson asked and she wasn't sure of how to reply her.

She goes out on the street every night and day to work those money for them yet they don't show their appreciations or be grateful to her atleast.

"You're going to get whipped for going against my rules, you've grown wings that you now break my rules" Mrs Johnson said dragging her upstairs.

"Mom please, I'm sorry, I won't go against you any more!" She begged but her mom paid a deaf ear to her.

Mrs Johnson pulled her inside a room and locked the door closed. Lashes and cries were being heard before the door was clicked opened and Mrs Johnson walked out with Jamie laying half dead on the floor.

This is how life has been for her. Whenever she goes against a rule implemented by her parents she gets dealt with. She can't run away for she has no one to run to. No friends none other family members that she knows of, just she and them.

Jamie weeped bitterly as her entire body was bleeding. She was so weak and tired to move a muscle and she decided to lay on the floor and in the next minute she drifted off to sleep.

After some hours Mr and Mrs Johnson walked in and met Jamie still on the floor.

"Is she dead?" Mrs Johnson asked.

"And is that question meant for me or what?" Mr Johnson questioned before touching Jamie who only made a sound but didn't get up.

"Why did you have to whip her today of all day when I have guests coming, do you think they wouldn't suspect a thing when they see her like this? Or do you want the cops to be called on us when they found out how we treat our daughter?" Mr Johnson questioned. He was angry at his wife action because he strictly informed her about today yet she messed up.

He pat Jamie hair slightly aa he felt a bit sad for her.

"I'm sorry, she disobeyed my rules so I had to dealt with her"

Mr Johnson gave a silent glance before standing up, "Let's go they're here"

He walked out and Mrs Johnson followed. The moment they left Jamie opened her eyes lazily.

She didn't paid full attention to them as she couldn't hear clearly on what they were discussing about but she knew they had guests.

She got up lazily before sitting straight. She was so weak as her back hurt, after some minutes she stood up and freshened up before treating on her wound. Even if she was to leave it they will eventually heal up on its own. The most surprising thing is that despite the injuries she had received so far it never leaves a scar on her and her body is as fresh as a leaf growing by the river side.

She got dressed and got down with deep curiosity on who the guests was.

"My darling focus" Mrs Johnson pressed on her husband shoulders as the weather was a bit tensed.

'What's going on?' She asked herself not planning on voicing it out.

They were four stunning men dressed in black suit. One sat down while the rest threw stood behind him. They were putting on black shades except for the one playing a game of chess with his father.

'When did her father started bringing his games home?' She wondered.

The moment she climbed down the stairs the strange men immediately cranked their necks towards their direction and they stared at her from the crown of her head to the toe of her feet.

"That's our beautiful daughter Jamie" Mrs Johnson introduced and Jamie bowed her head before saying the word, "Good evening gentlemen"

The four of them ignored her greetings before fixing their gaze back on the game. Jamie walked closer to her parents and stood behind them.

"Dad what are you doing? You've to move your king from that spot!" She shouted as she saw her Dad at the beak of losing.

"Shut up and get out of my sight!" Her Dad thundered angrily.

Jamie gulped down nothing before moving away from them. She watched them from afar and no doubt that her dad won't lose.

'But what did he placed in stake for this?'

Her father doesn't gamble game of chess without staking anything. He always wins that she knows and that's how he made his money. But in order to get an opponent you need to stake something down.

'This house?'

"Ahh…."

Her thoughts were interrupted after hearing her fathers voice.

"You lost" The person who was sitting down calmly said.

"Oh fuck!" Mr Johnson cursed loudly.

"You see I told you to move your king but you refused" Jamie said after observing the board

Her dad lost because he left his king in his stagnant position which was surprising. Her father always win with him using his king but why didn't he moved it today?.

"You're the cause of it!" Mr Johnson flipped the chess board at her which was blocked by one of the guy and it didn't reached her.

"Thank you!" She said. If it wasn't for that person the chess board would have hit her hard so she was thankful.

"You don't have to get angry Mr Johnson, you can still be the winner of this game and get the cash if you accept my offer" The man stood up fixing his collar properly.

"What offer?" Mr Johnson who was a bit curious asked.

"You give your daughter to us and we give you the cash with extra profits" Ambrose said and Jamie's ear immediately stood erected.

"I don't understand what you're talking about?" She stepped forward with a questioning look before glancing at her parents who seems like they were lost in thought.

"What are you both thinking about? Are you planning on selling me off to some strangers?" She shouted.
