Chapter 3 - The Return to the Li Family

The doctor, clipboard in hand, methodically examined Li Feng, preparing him for discharge. A man in a sleek black suit observed the scene silently, his dark gaze fixed on Li Feng.

The man in the black suit, his face a blank canvas, watched the doctor's examination with a cold, calculating gaze. Despite his impassive expression, an invisible aura of power and urgency emanated from him, subtly influencing the doctor to fast the process.

Li Feng, weak and vulnerable, lay on the hospital bed, oblivious to the silent power play unfolding around him.

The man in black, his enigmatic presence looming large, watched the scene with a hint of satisfaction, knowing that soon, a new chapter would begin for the young man.

Li Feng, his eyes narrowing, glanced at the enigmatic man in black. A wave of confusion washed over him as he turned to the doctor. "I... I don't have the money to pay for this," he stammered, his voice barely a whisper.

The doctor, a kind smile playing on his lips, replied, "Don't worry, young man. This gentleman here has already settled all the bills."

Li Feng, puzzled and grateful, turned to the man in black. "I don't know who you are or why you've paid for my treatment, but thank you," he said, his voice filled with sincere gratitude.

Lowering his head slightly, Li Feng bowed in respect, a gesture of gratitude from a heart filled with relief and uncertainty.

The man in black, his voice low and commanding, interrupted Li Feng's bow. "No need to bow your head for me, young master," he said, his tone carrying an undercurrent of authority.

"Young master?" Li Feng's eyebrows shot up in surprise. He exchanged a puzzled glance with the doctor, who seemed equally perplexed.

"Yes, you will know when you get to your house," the man in black replied enigmatically. He turned to the doctor and asked, "Is the examination complete? Can I take the young master home?"

The doctor, maintaining a professional demeanor, responded, "Yes, there's nothing physically wrong with him. However, he's quite thin.

Please ensure he eats nutritious meals and gets proper rest."

The man in black nodded, his expression impassive. Turning to Li Feng, he said, "Let's go."

Li Feng, still reeling from the revelation, followed the man out of the hospital. A sleek, black Rolls-Royce was waiting outside. The man opened the rear door and gestured for Li Feng to enter.

Li Feng's mind raced as the elderly man spoke. "Uncle?" he echoed, his confusion growing. "But... I'm an orphan. What uncle are you talking about?"

His eyes darted between the faces of the family members, searching for answers. The revelation had hit him like a thunderbolt, leaving him bewildered and uncertain.

A man, with a stern yet gentle expression, stood up from his seat. He walked towards Li Feng, his gaze intense.

"You are my son, Li Feng," he declared, his voice firm." I am Li Ming, the youngest son of Li Yuan and Li Hua," the man continued as he gestured towards the elderly couple seated at the head of the table.

Li Ming continued, "You know Li Xue. This is her father and the eldest son of the Li family, Li Hao." He gestured towards the man in his late 40s, seated on the left side of the table in the first row.

Beside him sat his wife, Li Mei, a woman of refined elegance.

To Li Mei's right sat their son, Li Chen, a young man a few years older than Li Feng.

Li Ming's gaze shifted to the right side of the table, where a woman in her late 40s exuded an aura of quiet authority. Her face, beautiful in a mature way, creased with a hint of amusement as she observed Li Feng. "This," Li Ming introduced, "is your aunt, Li Xiuying, the eldest daughter of the Li family."

Beside her sat a man, a few years older than Li Xiuying, with a warm and welcoming demeanor. Li Ming continued, "And this is your uncle by marriage, Zhang Wei. a valued member of the Li family."

Li Ming gestured towards the left side of the table, where a pair of twins sat, their identical features a testament to their shared genetic heritage.

"These are the children of Li Xiuying," he explained, "Li Wei and Li Yan."

Li Ming gestured towards the woman sitting beside Li Xiuying. Her face was stern, her expression devoid of any warmth. "And this is ... " Li Ming introduced, his voice slightly hesitant.

The woman, clearly impatient, interrupted.

"I am Li Mei. I am your mother," she stated coldly, her tone leaving no room for ambiguity.

Li Feng's heart sank as he took in his mother's cold demeanor. Her indifference was palpable, as if he were a stranger, not her long-lost son. He couldn't help but wonder why she had abandoned him, why he had been forced to grow up in an orphanage.

A wave of bitterness washed over him. Had he been unwanted? A mistake? A burden? The more he thought about it, the more questions arose, each more painful than the last.
