Chereads / The Man-Spider / Chapter 2 - Spider Bite

Chapter 2 - Spider Bite

Captain America fought for the rights of Mutants during the war and after the war. Many German Mutants betrayed Hitler when they saw what he was doing to the Jews. Many of the Mutants just wanted normal lives, they wanted to have a family and have jobs, not become monsters who killed innocent people. Many of the Mutants just wanted peace, they wanted to live without fear, without war, and without being used as weapons.

After the war, Captain America held a conference where he claimed that humans were the cause of this war. If not for the discrimination and experimentation of the humans, the Mutants wouldn't have joined Hitler. If not for the way they were treated, they wouldn't have been pushed into fighting for a dictator. If not for the cruelty they endured, they wouldn't have become part of the war.

And because many of the Mutants fought with Captain America, many of the Mutants weren't tried. A year after the trials finished, a bill was passed in the United States. The bill was called the Rights of Men.

The bill was supposed to protect Mutants from discrimination. They cannot be declined jobs just because of their powers, they cannot be segregated, and many more. They were supposed to be equal, they were supposed to be protected, and they were supposed to be safe.

However, those who followed this law were a minority. Most people still held hatred, most people still feared Mutants, and most people refused to accept the law.

"Well champ, here we are. What do you think is in that building?"

Richard and Peter arrived at the abandoned building. The building was abandoned a few years ago. It used to be a lab to study mutations, but a few years ago, they were exposed to experimenting on Mutants.

The Mutant Community was in an outrage, and the Government was forced to shut down the place and imprisoned those who experimented on Mutants. The Mutant Community was furious, the Mutant Community was heartbroken, and the Mutant Community demanded justice.

Richard jumped around in excitement, "I don't know! But let's go in! Maybe they'll have some cool sciency stuff!"

Peter chuckled and walked inside the building. The building was a mess, there was no more furniture and only the walls covered in growing plants remained. The building was abandoned, the building was decayed, and the building was falling apart. After a few minutes of looking around, the two found an underground basement.

Richard was scared, the stairs were dark, no sunlight could make its way in. The stairs were endless, the stairs were quiet, and the stairs led into the unknown.

Peter saw Richard trembling, he chuckled, "Come on champ. You don't have to go in there. Let's just go home, Aunt May is probably-"

Before Peter could finish, Richard looked at Peter with a forced smile, "Come on big bro Pete! You aren't scared, are you?!"

Peter laughed and made his way down. Peter took out his phone and used the screen as a source of light. And a few seconds later, they faced a massive door.

The door was made of metal that was beginning to rust. The door was ancient, the door was heavy, and the door was locked. There was a lock but the lock was broken, so they quickly made their way in.

Upon walking inside, the lights automatically opened. Frightened, Richard fell on his butt with wide eyes. Although scared, Peter just laughed at Richard.

The room was futuristic, with everything being made of silver metals. The room was untouched, the room was cold, and the room felt eerie. It was clean and showed no rusting. The room was filled with many different vials, all named differently.

In the middle of the room, there was a metal table that had straps on them. And on the table was a singular jar that was open. The lid was on the table and it had a handprint on it. The handprint was made of blood, and on the table, there was a small amount of dried blood.

Peter backed off when he saw the blood, "Hey Richard, let's go back-"

Before he could finish, he saw a spider from the corner of his eye. It bit his shoulder which caused him to groan in pain. But as the spider bit him, he noticed something different about the spider. The spider was red and had patterns all over it.

Instead of killing the spider, Peter calmly caught the spider and placed it inside the jar. He closed the jar and yelled at Richard who was still looking around the room, "Hey champ! Let's go home!"

"Ok!"

It was already getting dark when Peter and Richard arrived home. After a scolding from Aunt May, Peter quickly made his way to his room where he studied the spider.

"What are you? You look beautiful!"

Peter watched the spider with awe. He had never seen a spider like this one, so he believed it was a new type of spider. Peter had never seen anything like it, Peter had never studied something so unique, and Peter was fascinated.

Peter grabbed his backpack and took out a pencil and a notebook. He began to draw the spider, and after finishing, he yawned.

He looked at the time, "It's only 8 PM, why am I so sleepy?"

Shrugging off the tiredness, Peter stood up and made his way outside. He was going to buy food for the spider, and maybe a proper container. But he didn't have enough money for both, so he only got the food.

It was already 9 PM when he got back home. He quickly fed the spider and slumped on his bed.
