Chapter 1 - Little Champ

"Super powers. They have taken over the earth, they are a plague!"

"Are you mad?! The X-men have saved dozens, if not hundreds of people! Yet you sit here and talk shit?! Why don't you go out there and save the people! The streets are filled with gangs and-"

The one speaking didn't finish as the TV was turned off.

"Aww! Mom, I was watching that!"

The boy sitting down in front of the TV frowned. The kid was seven years old, brown hair and brown eyes. He was hugging a blue, hairy stuffed toy.

"That's enough, Richard! You've been watching TV for hours now. And besides, you shouldn't be watching that stuff anyway. You should be watching cartoons or something…"

"Oh, come on, Mom…" Richard looked down and continued, "I need to watch grown-up stuff so I can be as smart as big bro Pete."

Maybelle Parker, or May Parker, bent down and looked at her son. She patted his head and said, "Oh, sweetie. You'll be as smart as him one day. But you need to have a childhood. Go play around and not just study all day. And watching politics won't really make you smart. If anything, it'll just… God, why am I even speaking like this to a child?"

As May talked, the two heard the front door open and laughter soon followed. Richard rose to his feet, a wide smile lighting up his face.

"Dad! Big Bro Pete!"

May stood up and sighed. She quickly followed Richard and welcomed the two who had just come in.

The two people that came in were Peter Parker and Benjamin Parker. The moment they saw Richard and May, they smiled and embraced each other in a hug.

Benjamin Parker was a 38-year-old veteran soldier. He was a man with a heart of gold. He would put everyone else above himself. He believed that with great power comes great responsibility.

Ben picked up his son with a smile, "Well, little man, were you good to Mom?"

Richard nodded profusely, "Ya, ya, ya!"

Everyone chuckled while May added, "Yeah, he sure was."

She tickled a part of Richard's stomach that was showing. "Hehahahaha! Stop that, Mom, that tickles!"

Peter smiled, "Well, champ. Wanna go for a walk? I did say we were gonna look at that abandoned building yesterday." Peter whispered the last bit as he winked at Richard.

Ben heard what Peter whispered and rolled his eyes, "Careful, you two. Don't go out too late."

Richard and Peter looked at each other and giggled.

Peter was smart, smarter than most. He had A's in every class, and at 15 years old, he was already doing equations that even scientists and mathematicians would have a difficult time with. He was the nephew of Ben Parker and the son of Richard Parker. Ben gave his only son the same name as his lost brother out of respect.

After the death of his father, Peter was taken in by Ben and his wife. And soon later, they had a child after many years.

Peter chuckled and raised the box he was holding, "Come on, champ, let's go eat. Look, I even got your favorite food~"

Richard jokingly frowned, "Pizza again? That's your favorite food, Big Bro Pete."

The whole family let out a laugh and made their way to the kitchen. And after they finished eating, both Peter and Richard went outside for a walk.

As they walked on the sidewalk, Richard skipped as he walked. He was carrying the same toy he was holding earlier, a Nightcrawler stuffed toy.

Peter noticed the toy Richard was holding, "Is that Nightcrawler?"

Richard stopped skipping and brought his toy up as high as he could, "Yup! Isn't he so cool?! He's sooo smart just like you! And he's also a hero!"

Peter smiled, but his smile quickly faded when he overheard two men speak.

"Look at that fucking kid holding onto that toy. Those damn mutants are just monsters. I don't understand how people like them."

The guy next to him nodded, "Yeah. I bet his parents hate that kid for liking those damn mutants."

Richard heard what they said, which caused him to look down. Peter was about to comfort him, but he just hugged his toy and began to sway around with a smile, "No matter what. You guys will forever be heroes!"

Peter chuckled and called out to Richard, "Hey champ, wait for me!"

Mutants were first discovered in the First World War when a French soldier survived multiple shots from the Germans. From then on, mutants began to appear more often, but governments around the world hid them.

They experimented and made them their dogs. However, years after the end of the First World War, mutants were called upon in Germany. At the time, the ruler of Germany was a mutant named Adolf Hitler. He was a powerful mutant that called upon many mutants throughout the world.

He promised them equality and basic human rights. And as thousands of mutants joined him, he soon started World War II.

Due to the power of mutants, humanity stood no chance. That was until one man created a serum that granted powers. A scientist by the name of Abraham Erskine created a Super Soldier Serum that enhanced the human body to superhuman levels.

Thousands of super soldiers were created. Soldiers from the United States, France, and even the SSR. These soldiers slowly forced the Germans to retreat. And at the end of World War II, one soldier shined the brightest, Bucky Barnes, also known as Captain America.
