Chapter 3 - Lighting up half the town

"With enough materials and robotic helpers," Su Wu mused, "it feels like we've entered the fast lane."

"The shelter will definitely be completed smoothly."

"And if something unexpected does happen, well… that won't be my problem anymore."

For the first time in weeks, he finally had a moment to breathe. Away from the constant busyness and anxiety, he could now think about the future.

Despite everything, Su Wu still didn't know exactly how the apocalypse would unfold.

The Doomsday Survival System had only given him vague hints—something about extreme climate changes.

It could be a world of unbearable heat. Or a frozen wasteland.

Maybe a deadly virus. Radiation leaks. Earthquakes. Floods.

Whatever the cause, the outcome was the same: total annihilation of life on Earth.

And those who underestimated the danger would be reduced to ashes by the wrath of nature.

The only uncertainty left was when the end would come.

[Upgrade Options]

Small Drilling Machine (1 km depth) – 3 Survival Points

Large Drilling Machine (5 km depth) – 20 Survival Points

Extreme Drilling Machine (10 km depth) – 60 Survival Points

[Unfinished Geothermal Generator]

Compatibility: 75%

Evaluation: A semi-finished generator. Lacking crucial internal components, it's currently just a non-functional model.

Upgrade Option: Small Geothermal Generator (300 kWh) – 13 Survival Points

Neither the drilling machine nor the generator was complete.

Neither could be used yet.

But that was intentional.

Even though his engineering robots could theoretically manufacture most of the necessary parts, time was the real problem.

The more precise the component, the longer it took to produce.

If he insisted on building everything from scratch, completing a full drilling rig and geothermal generator would take at least ten days to half a month.

And if he wasted that much time, the apocalypse might arrive before he even had the chance to finish.

That wasn't a risk he could afford to take.

It was far more efficient to construct a semi-finished version now and upgrade it instantly with survival points.

Powering Up the Future

Wasting no time, Su Wu used 13 survival points to upgrade the geothermal generator.

The changes were immediately noticeable.

Its overall performance had improved beyond the original design specs—reaching a world-class standard. The new interface was also incredibly user-friendly, making installation much easier.

Two hours later—

A row of green indicator lights flashed on.

The geothermal generator had officially started running.

"Perfect," Su Wu nodded in satisfaction.

"Power output has reached the rated capacity—300 kWh per hour."

"Electricity won't be a problem for a long time."

He glanced at the small display screen, watching the real-time power generation stats.

The exhaustion from days of constant work faded away, replaced by a deep sense of relief.

What does 300 kWh per hour mean?

That's equivalent to the output of a small hydropower station—a facility that would normally require an investment of 20 million yuan.

It was enough to power 10,000 household light bulbs simultaneously.

At night, it could literally light up half a town.

And now, all of that energy belonged to him.

With power secured, Su Wu knew one thing for certain—

His future was limitless.
