At first, everything seemed perfect. Brandon and I were happy, and our relationship was strong. Jennifer was still my closest confidante, and we would often meet for coffee or go shopping together.

But as time went on, I started to notice little things. Brandon was working longer hours, and when he was home, he seemed distant. Jennifer was around more often, and while I appreciated her company, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

I remember one evening, Brandon and I were watching TV together, and Jennifer stopped by unexpectedly. She and Brandon started chatting, and I went to make some tea in the kitchen. As I was pouring the water, I heard them laughing together, and something about their tone made me feel uneasy.

I pushed the feeling aside, telling myself I was just being paranoid. But as the weeks went by, I started to notice more and more little things. Brandon and Jennifer would exchange texts, and when I asked him what they were talking about, he would just brush it off.

I tried to talk to Jennifer about it, but she just told me I was being silly, that she and Brandon were just friends. I wanted to believe her, but the seed of doubt had been planted.
