Chapter 1 - Prologue

The girl loved the wilderness. She was outside more often than not, jumping at every opportunity to explore the vast expanse of trees and stone that lied beyond her small town. She itched for adventure. She was usually bored, as this town didn't offer much to pleasure a young child's mind.

She would hear a voice often. A voice culling her to go to it. She ignored it mostly. She had long since heard the tales of Siren songs and didn't trust this whisper. However, day by day, the urge to go to this voice grew stronger.

Eventually the section of the forest that her parents allowed her to explore freely wasn't enough to satisfy her never ending curiosity. Eventually she was persuaded to venture into trees, and find whatever it was that kept calling out to her. This day, she didn't return home. She was too absorbed in her quest, she didn't notice the shift between day and night. She didn't seem to mind the pain in her legs, or the heaviness of her eyes, or the grumbling of her stomach.

She kept walking. She was entirely unaware of her surroundings. Perhaps if she was she would've been off put by the lack of wild life. No birds or bugs chirped, no critters run through the underbrush, no wolves howled into the night. It was a dark and empty forest. A forest with no signs of life.

It was eerily silent, but she either didn't notice or didn't care. As she ventured deeper, a clearer path opened up. The girl followed it. It was impossible to tell how much time had passed on her journey. But it didn't matter to her.

She entered a cavern. It's floor was covered in a shallow water, and the cave itself was a madsive dome. It was completely dark other than a small light in the center of the cave.

She knew it was what she had been looking for. As she stepped towards it, the cave seemed to bend the closer she got. It was as if this thing was the center of the universe. The whispers got louder and louder, seducing her into continuing to walk towards it.

She reached towards the light, trying to grasp its infinite beauty in her grasp. She didn't know what it was. All she wanted was to touch it. To hold it. She was blissfully ignorant to what she was about cause.

The ascension was complete, and soon the holocaust would soon begin.
