Chapter 9 - Why Was He So Blunt?

Sabi opened the door to Levi's office, and her heart almost stopped when she saw him standing right in front of it, like he had been expecting her. His hands were tucked into his pockets, his piercing gaze locked onto her the moment she stepped in. She almost lost her balance but quickly composed herself, lowering her head as she walked in with her cleaning equipment.

"I thought you weren't in the office," she mumbled. "I was told so. Perhaps I should come back another time?"

"No, no, Sabi." Levi's voice was smooth but firm. "I need you now."

Sabi froze for a second, her fingers tightening around the handle of the mop. Her mind scrambled to process his words. I need you now? What a weird way of communicating, she thought. It sounded too personal, too intimate. She tried to push the thought away and walked past him to begin her job. She bent to pick some papers on the floor and arranged his table.

Levi turned, his gaze trailing after her. His eyes lingered on her curves, the way her uniform stretched around her hips, the way her body moved effortlessly. He didn't blink, didn't look away. He imagined what she would look like without those clothes, his jaw tightened.

"I want you."

Sabi's hands stilled as she gripped the edge of his desk. Did I just hear that right? Slowly, she turned around to face him. There was no mischief in his expression, no trace of amusement, he looked dead serious, yet impossibly hot. What kind of blunt and perverted man is this?

She let out an incredulous laugh, tilting her head. "What?"

Levi's face remained impassive.

"I do not understand what you mean, sir."

Levi took a slow step forward, his gaze burning into hers. "You're an adult. I want to make love to you." He said fiercely. "Actually, I want to fuck you. I want to fuck you really hard that your legs begins to wobble and you beg me for mercy"

Sabi's mouth dropped open. She stared at him in disbelief, searching his face for any sign that this was some kind of joke, but there was none. Heat flushed through her body, but it wasn't the kind she welcomed—it was anger, frustration, confusion. Her fingers trembled as she clenched them into fists.

"You must be out of your damn mind." Her voice was sharp, a mixture of shock and disgust. She took a step back. "Who do you think you are? Like who the fuck are you?"

Levi arched an eyebrow, unfazed by her outburst. "I know exactly who I am, Sabi."

"And I should care?" she snapped. "You think you can just say something like that to me and I'll melt into your arms like one of your desperate lovers? My name is Sabi Carter, I am not a cheap whore. My mother raised me well."

Levi smirked. "I never said anything about you melting."

Sabi scoffed, shaking her head. "You're unbelievable." She grabbed her cleaning supplies and stormed toward the door, her heart pounding furiously against her ribs. She couldn't believe the audacity of this man, couldn't believe he had the nerve to look at her like that, talk to her like that.

Levi followed her.

"Sabi."

She ignored him, quickening her pace.

"Sabi." His voice was deeper this time, but she didn't stop.

She burst out of the office, her footsteps echoing down the hallway. She wanted to scream, wanted to erase the memory of his words from her mind.

How dare he?

How dare he think he could say something like that to her?

She wasn't one of those women who fawned over him. She wasn't some plaything he could beckon with just a look.

She was here for revenge, not whatever the hell that was.

Just as she turned a corner, a strong hand caught her wrist and spun her around. She gasped, her back hitting the wall as she found herself caged between Levi's arms. His scent surrounded her, dark, intoxicating, completely suffocating.

"I don't appreciate being ignored," he said, his voice low and dangerous.

Sabi struggled, shoving against his chest. "Let go of me."

Levi didn't move. His gaze locked onto hers, searching, probing. "Why are you running?"

She glared at him. "Because you're a lunatic."

His lips twitched, almost like he wanted to smile. "You don't believe me?"

"Believe what?" she snapped. "That you're some arrogant prick who thinks he can have anything he wants? That's nothing new."

Levi chuckled, the sound deep and rich. "I don't think I can have anything I want." He tilted his head, eyes flicking over her lips. "But I know what I want right now."

Sabi swallowed, her throat suddenly dry. She hated how intense his stare was, how his presence seemed to invade her space, her senses.

"I should fire you for speaking to me like this," Levi mused, his fingers brushing a strand of hair from her face.

"Then do it," Sabi challenged, her voice sharp.

Levi's smirk widened. "Not a chance."

His thumb grazed her cheek, and her breath hitched. What is he doing?

Her heart pounded so loudly she swore he could hear it.

Then, just as suddenly as he had grabbed her, he kissed her passionately.

Sabi struggled as they kiss went on. She started enjoying it along the line but when she remembered what she as doing she pulled away immediately, and gave him a very thunderous slap.

She staggered slightly, glaring up at him. Levi took a step back, stuffing his hands into his pockets, his face unreadable.

"Go back to work, Miss Carter," he said smoothly.

Sabi clenched her jaw. "Gladly."

She turned on her heel and stormed away, her entire body still buzzing with adrenaline. She didn't look back, didn't want to see the smug expression she knew was on his face.

Levi stood there watching her, his cheeks burning from the slap she had just delivered on his cheeks.
