It was a normal school day, I glanced over at Donnie, who was staring out the window, lost in thought. Our math teacher, Mrs. Johnson, had given us a challenging assignment, but Donnie's mind seemed elsewhere. I knew him well enough to recognize the distant look in his eyes. "Hey, Donnie, what's on your mind?" I called out across the room, trying to snap him back to reality.
He turned to me, a mixture of concern and distraction on his face. "Just this weird dream I've been having," he said, his voice low. "It's been bothering me for days...?"
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. Donnie and I had been friends since we were toddlers, and I knew when something was really bothering him. "What's the dream about?" I asked, leaning in.
Just as Donnie began to share his concerns, the sky outside turned a deep, blood red! The air seemed to vibrate with an otherworldly energy, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. "What the...?!" I trailed off, stunned.
A voice boomed from the chaos, echoing in my mind. "It's been over a dozen millennia since I last spoke...!"
I exchanged a bewildered glance with Donnie. What was happening?! The voice continued, warning of creatures of darkness and the physical plane being in danger. I felt a surge of fear, but before I could process anything, the voice fell silent, and the light vanished.
Chaos erupted in the classroom! Students screamed and cried, and I saw a massive creature emerge from the shadows. It was a demon, its body covered in eyes, and it was enormous!
A swing from its arms made the school break in two! A demon – that's what first came to mind, maybe due to my religious background or the ominous message. It was what I always pictured a demon to be, but 100 times worse! Its limbs were gigantic, all four of them, with eyes all over its body and a twisted tongue-like structure. The urge to destroy everything in its path seemed to bring it visible pleasure, and I was paralyzed with fear!
That's when I saw Gift, a friend of both Donnie and me. She was about to be crushed by the ever so complacent demon, which seemed to be taking pleasure in its destruction! Without thinking, I rushed towards her. As I reached her side, I noticed she was glowing – not just reflecting the sunlight, but actually radiating a strange light! I didn't have time to wonder about it; I just knew I had to save her.
I should have looked before I ran, but I didn't, and now the demon was about to crush us both! I sighed, ready to accept our fate, as I held Gift's hands. Donnie pulled me from behind, and we narrowly escaped! We ran as fast as we could, finally managing to escape the building.
Outside, the scene was apocalyptic! Demons roamed the streets, leaving destruction and death in their wake. Gift turned to us, her eyes wide with shock. "This is the end of days," she whispered.
I could only nod in agreement, my mind reeling with the implications...
