Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

The dark sky rumbled every after streaks of lightning flashed across its dreary appearance. The wind blew with strength, as if demanding the uproot of the sturdy looking trees that made up the huge forest. It was really dark but that didn't stop the people gathered within from doing whatever they were. In fact, all this current weather was a result of whatever they had started.

These people were clad in dark robes, with cloaks over their heads. Whatever they were doing, it seemed like it was a must secrecy. These dark figures were roughly thirty in number and strangely enough, they surrounded a young boy who was clad in white. Pure and innocent but with those purple eyes that everyone dreaded. The boy was around four years old in appearance and dark skinned just like those around him, as could be seen from their wrists and slightly exposed lower faces. The boy had a look of fear in his eyes.

"We call unto the gods to bear witness as we hold this sacrificial ceremony..." A woman's voice reverberated from among the group and as soon as it started, the sky rumbled with much more vigor as if responding to the woman's plea. The people started swaying just like the huge trees as they moved in circles around the boy, who pivoted the shape. "Come forth and accept this sacrifice, we, your lowly servants submit unto you." The woman continued along with the dance... whatever it was that they were doing.

Spontaneously, the sky opened and a full vibrant and pure looking moon shone upon the group from above. The black clouds started swirling around the light from the moon, as if mimicking the people below. Streaks of lightning swam within the dark clouds, giving off an imposing image that stuck fear deep within the eyes of anyone who looked up. But none dared to do so...well, apart from the sacrifice eventually.

" Please..." The boy sobbed in fear. "I want to go to my mother... please let- me-g-go!" He pleaded in stutters but all that fell on deaf ears. The cloaked figures sped up the dance with strength unseen, the wind broke down trees in the surrounding...all seemed like an apocalypse was descending into the world. The young boy sat on the ground and held himself in fear with tears welling up his eyes. The moonlight grew holier and purer as it concentrated on the boy. His bald head shined as it reflected the light: he looked like a little fairy from another world.

If anyone saw this seen, they'd be dumbstruck beyond recovery for this was unheard of...well, maybe in movies.

At that moment the boy, covered in holy light, lost gravity. As one would put it with simple physics. And the cause was the light from the moon.

Boooom!!

A deafening sound responded from the dark clouds and before the boy knew anything else, he was mercilessly struck down by thousands, of not millions of lightning streaks. The boy screamed in agony...not with grace, for the pain was unbearable not only for the boy but any normal human being wouldn't bear this. The people stopped dancing and moving and stood in their respective positions around the boy. Some were shivering in fear while others stood firmly with imposing manner but submissive to the seen before them.

" All give thanks and glory for the gods have accepted their servants' sacrifice." That female voice from earlier sounded again. Everyone hummed! "Now all our past deeds will be lifted off our shoulders as per the gods' willingness to save their servants. All hail the gods." The woman added and with that, all the people started screaming unknown words in a frenzy and with crazed vigor. If one saw well, they'd see a black fog drifting off from the cloaked figures unto the screaming boy and holy white light descending unto them from the moon.

"IMPUDENT!!!" A voice reverberated in the sky, forest and everywhere. The swirling dark clouds were disrupted hence covering the moon: the ceremony was disrupted abruptly. These cloaked figures weren't really happy with what was happening.

"Who dares to interfere our ceremony!?" That female voice from the people below shouted out in anger. Some of the cloaked figures started shaking in fear. " Stay put you cowards!" A man's voice angrily berrated at those who were shaking.

"As per the rules of the Advanced Human Society, no one is allowed to perform a so called 'Sacrificial ceremony '." That imposing voice sternly said. " And who do you think you are to step in on us during private matter?" The woman from earlier asked. Though her voice wasn't that imposing, it held authority.

"Well well, if it isn't Ms. Andreas and some of the council men of the Blue flame palace! I'm glad to say that you're in deep-shit trouble...sacrificing a little child for your freedom!!" Another voice sounded. It was just as imposing as the one from before.

Now nobody was composed, even the man who angrily berrated at his coward fellows. Only that woman, who was now removing the cloak off her head was still composed. She was surprised though as to how that person had said out her name...someone has betrayed her, but who!? She couldn't point it out well but that was the fact. They had a mole in their group and she had figured who that was for some unspoken reasons.

" So what if you guys are from the League of Mages? What can only two Mages do to me?" She said in a matter-of-factly tone. Ms. Andreas was an otherworldly stunning black beauty. With just a glance, countless hearts would be stolen...well, one wouldn't even know that she was an 'old hag' as her haters and those who knew her well used to call her. She was so old but looked young, one could also call her an immortal.

"Hahaha...Old hag, I'm amused at how straight you are but displeased by your evil ritual. Release the boy and your punishment will be lightened from death to a lightning tribulation." A woman's voice reverberated in the sky and after that, a clear opening appeared in the sky, dispelling the dark clouds. Hell, even the trees grew still with the wind having calmed down. In the sky five individuals appeared. A male and female were in the lead with three youths, all male behind.

At the sight of these people, everyone shuddered and even Ms.Andreas' expression grew solemn. The young boy was now unconscious as could be seen from the corner of her eye. She now realized how grave her situation was.

"Think about it...that boy isn't an ordinary gifted. He belongs to that family no one should mess with...I don't know how you pulled it off but they won't let you get away with it if word gets out." That beautiful woman said gently with hints of laughter in her tone. She had that motherly charm and beauty on her and her flawless chocolate skin graced her beauty further more. She had unusually long jet black hair that flowed down to her graceful lower curves.

Ms. Andreas turned to look at the miserable looking boy on the ground. She gritted her teeth as her fists clenched, her long nails digging into her flesh. It would be an understatement to say that she was angry...she was beyond! Thousands of thoughts seemed to flash through her mind as she considered the woman's words carefully.

"Miss..." The man beside her wanted to say something but Ms. Andreas raised her hand for him to stop. " I agree with you Francesca but my people shouldn't be put through the torture I'm going to be put through... that's the only condition I have." She said, her eyes not leaving Francesca's.

" Oh!? But I remember correctly seeing them in the same act as you. They're going to face the same punishment as you as per the rules of the LOM." The beauty in the sky, Francesca spoke solemnly only to be disappointed the next moment she saw the cloaked figures drop one by one on the ground 'till only a man was left. "Why must you make things hard for an innocent soul?" Francesca asked, her voice dripping with sorrow.

" Well...things happen for a reason." Ms. Andreas said and with that, the man dropped dead on the ground just like the rest of his comrades. The next moment, she started laughing like a crazed being, tears flowing down her beautiful face that was now contorted in grief.

" I'll capture her before she does something unexpected. She's entered the crazed state." The bronze skinned man beside Francesca said before disappearing and appearing next to the crazed woman. He folded incantation signs and the next moment, strings of blue imprints appeared around crazy Andreas. She realized what was happening, a moment too late hence the fight she put up was a futile struggle. She was sealed away into the void!

That very moment she was sealed away, the other four appeared beside him and they all went on about, doing the needful.

" How's the recording orb?" The man asked one of the young men who were currently checking out the corpses. " It's all recorded Mr. Ndugga." With that reply, Mr. Ndugga joined Francesca who was using her energy to heal the miserable looking boy. A sad look was stuck on her beautiful face.

"Do you think he'll be fine?" She asked the approaching man. " They might've destroyed his life here in the Mystic world but he'll have a place in the mortal world." Mr. Ndugga replied in a calm manner.

"About his family..." Francesca trailed off as the words seemingly got stuck in her throat. " He might be a total orphan, but the clan lord cares about his families so I bet he'll grant him a life he deserves and...I don't know Francesca but-"

" Well it's obvious that you also bet...this boy is my sworn sister's child. Even though she's gone, I'll take care of him no matter what." Francesca cut off the man...hell, even a year drop so crystal clear trickled down her smooth cheek.

"Andreas will pay for it all!" Ndugga didn't know what to do when he heard her growl those words out but all he knew is that she was dead serious now.

The next moment, the corpses were sealed away hence the immediate departure.

The huge forest went quiet, only the howling of the cool night wind and rustling of leaves and a twig snapping...wait, yeah. A twig snapped and more, even there were small thuds as someone finally came into view in the open space where the event earlier had unfolded. It was a tall man of about six feet with snow white dreadlocks that went all the way long down to his shins.

He had rough bronze skin, deep red eyes that seemed to have seen past countless generations and a frown that seemed to be stuck on his face forever. He had a grey beard that was long enough to reach his abdomen. He was topless, which exposed his well toned muscles and scarred body. It seemed that he had fought countless battles and his presence was proof of his victory in them. Strange enough, all his scars glowed a dim white.

He paced around, examining the place deep in thought. It looked like he was looking for something but he couldn't find it. He then looked upwards to the sky and gazed at the moon. He then sighed in frustration, turned to go away but then paused for a second before approaching the area the young boy was earlier. The place was charred and devastated.

" Tying generational curses to an innocent soul? And one of foreign bloodline!?" The man analysed audibly in a deep husky voice. "These advanced humans haven't changed! Hmm...but targeting a young and pure soul is crossing the line." He concluded before slowly continuing ahead to wherever he was headed to.
