Chapter 2 - A Totally Normal Plan (Not Really)

Focus, Rin. Focus…

So apparently, I can use magecraft out in the open, no problem. Because why not? It's not like anyone will bat an eye when there's a walking, talking, giant electric pole—ahem—God of Thunder casually tossing lightning around. Is he really that tall, or is it just because I'm stuck in a ten-year-old body?

Then we've got a scientist with rage issues, a super-assassin, and a tech genius whose inventions are basically magecraft by another name…

Wait a damn second.

We've got:

A Berserker with what feels like EX-ranked Madness Enhancement.

A Shielder who happens to be carrying an indestructible, star-spangled hunk of metal.

An Archer (Hawkeye, duh).

An Assassin (Black Widow fits the bill perfectly).

A Caster who uses technology instead of magecraft.

And Thor, who—with Stormbreaker—would totally qualify as a Lancer.

… Don't tell me.

This isn't some messed-up version of a Grail War, is it?!

I exhale sharply, scanning my surroundings. At least I don't see some lunatic swinging a sword around. That would be the final straw.

WAIT! That's not important right now! My focus should be on the creepy-ass aliens currently flooding the city.

Ugh. This ten-year-old body is definitely messing with my cognitive abilities. I need to shake it off and get my priorities straight.

But before that…

It's flashback time!

(Yeah, yeah, a flashback inside an already ongoing flashback. At this rate, I might just become Deadpool.)

[Flashback]

Rin sat across from her teacher, staring blankly as his words processed.

"Your final objective? Stop Thanos. After that, you can return to your home world."

She blinked. Once. Twice.

"... Yeah, okay, that's not concerning at all."

[Present]

Right. That's what's up. So, I have to stop a giant, moon-throwing purple grape without any Servants, a proper team, or a decent strategy?

Yeah, no. Not happening.

That's why I need the Avengers.

Step 1: Join the Avengers.

Which, of course, has its own steps:

Steal Loki's scepter. Close the portal. Save a bunch of civilians. Make some friends. Secure a solid spot in the team as an essential member.

End Goal: Casually manipulate the group into following a perfectly crafted plan so we don't get completely obliterated when Thanos finally shows up.

Easy, right?

Five Minutes Later…

Five minutes. That's all it took for my grand infiltration of the battlefield to be thwarted.

"Stark, I thought the block was clear of civilians!" Captain America shouts, his voice full of exasperation as he sprints past, carrying a sack of potatoes—no, wait, that's me.

Turns out, trying to sneak into an active warzone as a kid and expecting no one to care isn't exactly the best decision.

Another precise throw, another perfect rebound.

I watch in fascination as his shield carves through a group of Chitauri and then miraculously returns to his hand. I bet there's magic involved in that frisbee. If I could get my hands on it... I just need a few minutes to analyze the structure—

No. Focus, Rin!

This must be Shiro's influence, making me fanboy over heroes instead of acting. I shake off the distraction and glare up at the super soldier currently hauling me like a bag of rice.

"Hey, old popsicle, let me down! I can help!" I snap.

"The battlefield isn't a place for a child," he says sternly, barely sparing me a glance as he evades an energy blast.

I roll my eyes. "I'm not a child. And behind you, idiot!"

A Chitauri descends from above, aiming its weapon directly at him. Without waiting for permission, I extend my hand, flicking a small ruby toward the enemy.

"Sechs, fünf, vier! Verzehren Sie den Schatz! Vernichten Sie den Schatten des Feindes!"

The gem ignites mid-air, detonating into a fiery explosion that engulfs the alien in a brilliant burst of crimson light. Captain America whirls around just in time to see the smoldering remnants of the Chitauri disintegrate.

He blinks, clearly re-evaluating his stance on my presence. "Huh. That was... effective."

"No kidding. Now put me down."

He hesitates, glancing toward the ongoing chaos. "Alright, but stay close."

"Yeah, sure," I say, already vanishing into the fray before he can argue.

"We are not letting a child fight!" Natasha insists, expertly flipping an alien into the pavement.

"She already is fighting," Tony retorts, dodging a blast. "And doing a damn good job of it."

Thor chuckles, smashing a Chitauri with Mjolnir. "The girl has spirit. And power! I say let her prove herself."

"That's insane," Steve grumbles, but when he turns to where I was standing, I'm already gone.

While they argue, I've repositioned myself on top of a wrecked car, scanning the battlefield. My fingers graze the gemstones at my belt, picking the right ones for the next move.

"Fixierung, Aim, Eile Salve!"

I unleash a rapid barrage of Gandr shots, dark energy streaking through the air like bullets, striking down the Chitauri advancing toward civilians. A few lucky shots even disable their hovering chariots, sending them crashing into their allies.

A shriek from above draws my attention. A Leviathan—a massive, armored monstrosity—looms over the battlefield, its mouth opening as a fresh wave of Chitauri prepare to drop.

"Oh hell no."

I pull out five gemstones, arranging them in a floating pentagram before me.

"Fünf Sterne im Umlauf!"

Each gem glows with a different elemental hue. Wind, fire, earth, water, and lightning merge together into a swirling vortex, condensing into a single, devastating energy beam that lances toward the Leviathan. The beast roars as the blast tears through its plated body, sending flaming debris plummeting to the streets below.

The Avengers pause, momentarily stunned.

"Did—did the kid just take down a Leviathan?!" Clint shouts over the comms.

"Focus up, people!" Steve barks, though even he sounds impressed.

I smirk, dusting off my hands. "Told you I could help."

..............

Rin landed gracefully on the rooftop of Stark Tower, her boots clicking against the sleek surface. The New York skyline was in chaos—Chitauri ships zipping through the sky, explosions rocking the city, and Avengers fighting for their lives. But none of that concerned her.

"Alright," she muttered, brushing some dust off her red jacket, "time to get that glowstick."

The scepter was still in Loki's hands, but not for long. Making her way down the tower, she weaved through the battlefield with ease, dodging debris, laser fire, and the occasional out-of-control alien speeder.

Left. Right. Left again.

She arrived just in time to see the Hulk slam Loki into the ground repeatedly, the force shaking the entire floor. Loki's pained groan was barely audible over the destruction around them.

"Puny god," Hulk grunted before stomping off.

Rin smirked. "Well, that was fun."

Stepping over Loki's groaning form, she casually picked up the scepter. The power radiating from it sent a slight tingle up her fingers, but she wasn't concerned. Compared to the Jeweled Sword Zelretch, this thing was a glorified nightlight.

"Alright, rooftop time."

With a burst of mana-enhanced speed, she was on top of Stark Tower again, overlooking the massive portal tearing through space itself. The army was still pouring through, but not for much longer.

"Yo, I can shut this thing down," she announced to the team through their comms.

"How?" came Clint's skeptical voice.

"Duh. Magic, kid. Magic portal," she deadpanned, twirling the scepter in her hand.

"Works for me," Tony responded. "Do your thing, Red."

With a deep breath, Rin planted her feet and flipped the scepter in her hand, pointing its tip toward the Tesseract-powered device. She didn't need fancy tech explanations or scientific theories—this was just another puzzle to solve.

"Anfang," she whispered, activating her Magic Circuits.

A pulse of blue energy surged through the scepter, connecting with the portal above. Using her Jewel Magecraft, she embedded the scepter's energy into a crystalline structure, then forcibly rewrote its function. Instead of opening a gateway, it would do the opposite.

"Alright, closing time."

The energy crackled, shifting from violent, uncontrolled pulses to a controlled collapse. The rift in space folded in on itself, shrinking rapidly as if someone had hit the rewind button.

With a final flash of blue, the portal vanished.

A beat of silence passed. Then, over the comms:

"Well, that was easy," Natasha remarked.

Rin scoffed. "For me, maybe."

She turned, watching the battle die down. Chitauri soldiers collapsed as their mothership was destroyed, and the Avengers were gathering, taking stock of the situation. No wormhole meant no nuke, which meant no Tony Stark flying into space for a near-death experience. Hopefully, that meant no post-war PTSD and a better recovery process.

She sighed, stretching her arms. "Alright, guys. Crisis averted. Now, who's up for shawarma?"
