"Oh Valerie , you don't have to be stressing over me, you've done more than enough"
"No mum I have to, you're too young to give up on yourself " I said to her
"Okay my dear, have you gotten any luck with your job hunting"
"No mum but im still on it, I should find a job before the week runs out" I said trying to reassure her
**At the Henshaw apartment
"No! If you insist on not getting married to the K&F group's daughter, you better have someone in mind before this month runs out else you'll have to forfeit your position as the heir" Mr Henshaw said
"No dad you can't do that to me, im even too young to start thinking of marriage, what the heck dad!" Ray said angrily
"Oh you think this is a joke right? Mr Henshaw said
"It should be a joke, I don't know why you are doing this, do you just derive joy in seeing me unhappy?, who says I can't be the CEO as a bachelor,huh? This is the United states there's no law against that" Ray said gently this time and his father also calmed down seeing his little boy breaking down
"Son, I only want this best for you, if your mother was alive she would have supported this decision too" Mr Henshaw said and Patted Ray's shoulders while walking out.
Ray's pov
"My dad is being cruel, does he even care about my happiness at all?,I doubt it cause if he did, he won't want to strip me off of my bachelor life and trap me in a marriage, what will I do? ... Let me call Henry".He picks up his phone and dialed Henry's number, he answered on the second ring
"Hey buddy, what's up?" Henry said
"My dad wants me to marry Kiara" I said to him
"That girl from K&F group?" He asked
"Yes exactly, I feel her dad is trying to get a merger with us , so he's trying to use the marriage to build a relationship between the two companies" I explained to him
"Hmm so what will you do now?, are you gonna marry her?" He asked and I could sense some concern in his voice
"Definitely not, he gave me till the end of the month to find someone I like, and I hope I will"I said to him
"Aiit fam, wanna hit the club tonight and blow some steam?"He asked with a little laugh
"Why not bruh, meet you there at 8" I replied feeling pumped up already
"It's 7:39pm already, you'd better be fast, if you want to get a good vvip spot and some pretty ass girls to go "
"Aiit mate, I'll meet you there" I said and hung up and began to get ready.
