Chapter 1: A World of Magic and Rank
In the land of Eldoria, magic was more than power—it was respect, status, and survival. Those who wielded strong magic stood at the top, while those without it were nothing more than dust beneath their feet. The world was divided between the light and the dark, the righteous and the wicked, giving rise to the sacred realms of Heaven and Hell—homes of the greatest magic wielders and their fallen counterparts.
Among the many towns scattered across Eldoria was Ravenmire, a bustling place where magic was everything. Here, a small family of four lived a simple yet happy life—Darius, the father, a royal palace gatekeeper; Evelyn, the mother, an A-rank healer; and their two sons—Krish, the elder, and Kishore, the younger.
Chapter 2: The Awakening Ceremony
The Royal Palace, located in the capital, held magical assessment ceremonies where individuals were ranked from Light-S (the strongest) to Light-D (the weakest). Krish, having turned fifteen, was finally of age to test his magic. The anticipation in his heart was overwhelming.
"Are you ready, my son?" Evelyn asked with a gentle smile as she held his shoulder. Kishore, barely three years old, clung to her dress, staring at his elder brother with admiration.
"Yes, Mother! I will become strong and protect you all!" Krish declared with determination.
With their goal set, Evelyn, Krish, and Kishore left Ravenmire and made their way to the capital. However, to reach it, they had to cross Verdant Hollow Forest, a treacherous land crawling with magical beasts. These creatures, placed there by the Royal Palace, served as training obstacles for new warriors.
As they ventured deeper, a chilling presence filled the air. Evelyn's heart pounded.
"Krish, Kishore—hide behind me!" she ordered, her healer's instincts sensing something monstrous approaching.
The trees rustled violently, and from the shadows emerged a terrifying beast, its eyes glowing with murderous intent. It was unlike any training beast—this one was a nightmare given form.
Evelyn immediately conjured a barrier, its light shimmering against the darkness. The beast lunged, slamming against the shield with bone-crushing force.
"Stay strong, Mother!" Krish shouted.
But the beast was relentless. With each strike, Evelyn's magic weakened. She was an A-rank healer, not a fighter. She knew she couldn't hold much longer.
Then, an idea struck her—one that made her heart ache.
"My children… live on!" she whispered, channeling all her magic into a teleportation circle embedded in a small enchanted device. Before Krish could protest, she grabbed them and threw them inside.
"No! Mother, don't!" Krish screamed, clawing at the barrier.
Evelyn turned, facing the beast head-on. She ran toward it, drawing its attention away from her children.
The last thing Krish and Kishore saw before darkness consumed them was their mother standing tall, her light magic flickering like a dying star.
