EDNA YOUNG
"We'll be having a dinner with the Alston's tonight. Be ready." That was the first thing they heard when they got into the house.
Hallie gave Gary a look before they both stared at their father, "Okay."
"How was school, my babies?" Helena came out from the kitchen, gloves in her hands.
"Were you cooking?" Gary asked and Helena nodded, her smile widening.
"Where are the maids, why are they not helping you?" He asked.
"Gary. I wanted to cook, that's why I did." Helena frowned.
"Do you need my help?" Hallie asked, dropping her school bag on the couch.
"Do you even know how to cook?" Gary smirked and she glared at him.
"You'll be shocked." She said, "Take my bag in." She picked it from the couch and threw it towards Gary, before following Helena into the kitchen.
"Mom, don't let Hallie touch any stuff there." Gary said and Tom fired him a look, "You are so noisy, Gary."
"Sorry, Dad." He apologized and went upstairs as quietly as possible.
After a while, Gary heard his name being called and he went downstairs, only to see the dining table filled with different tantalizing dishes.
"Wow, did you guys make all these?" He gasped.
"Don't eat too much, Hallie. You need to maintain your shape for the movie you'll be acting." Tom said and he spread the napkin.
She pursed her lips tightly, "Okay." She said lightly.
"This is...." Gary covered his mouth as he hit his spoon on the table a little, "Fantastic."
"Where did you learn how to cook?" Tom asked after he tasted it too.
"Hmmm, Videos. YouTube?" She nodded her head as she focused on her food. She also didn't want to eat much, she had been traumatized being taunted as fat. It would be crazy if Hallie's body started increasing too. She wouldn't be able to bear it at all.
What was more shocking? Hallie didn't know how to cook. Like, why not? Edna was a fare better cook. She had worked a part time job in a restaurant and even before that, she had started cooking for her grandparents before they died.
Her grandma had died in an accident and her grandfather from the heart attack of hearing the news. Very funny. They left her at almost the same time. Very crazy too.
**...**
Helena picked the dress for her. A dark green fitting dress for a dinner with something that was like family.
-Hallie!
-Hallie!
-Hmm....
-What's wrong with you? Reply me well.
-I'm replying you, Edna.
-You only said Hmm...
-Doesn't that count as a reply. Besides, I feel weak.
-You are not doing anything in there, why would you feel weak? Edna rolled her eyes funnily.
-Edna, I think....
-Don't think about anything, Hallie. You need to come out now, I don't have anything to say to Logan's family.
-You were able to deceive mine. You can deceive them fine, can't you?
-Well, I don't want too.
-Come ou....
-Goodbye Edna.
The car door opened and she stepped out. Hallie was such a proud fool, cutting her off before she could finish her sentence.
A man stood in front of the white house, guards scattered everywhere around the body. A typical look for a president's home. The man opened the large doors for them to get in and they did. She looked around the house.
"Oh my God." She muttered.
"Why'd you act like you are just seeing this for the first time?" Gary asked beside her.
"Cos I'm just seeing it for the first time." She replied without thinking as she placed her hands on the marble walls.
"You are?" Gary asked and she realized, so she just dropped her hands, facing the front.
"I was just talking about the beauty." She muttered and Gary shook his head, moving to her front.
She cleared her throat quietly as she took her seat in the large dining room. There were six chairs on each side and one at the head and tail respectively, a total of 14 chairs.
"Come here, darling. Come sit over here." Jacob summoned her to the side the Alston family were to sit.
Tom gave a short nod, granting her permission. Only if he knew she'd hate that.
She got up and walked round the table, sitting beside Logan's mother. Almost immediately, Logan's footsteps were heard as he walked down the stairs.
She scoffed lightly the moment she saw him. While she had dressed up in a green tight uncomfortable dress and forced to wear heels, her hair tied up in a tight bun and make-up donning her face, Logan was just clad in black shorts and a single top, his headphone on his head. He dropped them to his neck when he got to the table and took a seat beside her without a word.
Hallie gulped nervously, her fingers tapping the part of her exposed thigh rhythmically. Her legs curled up in her shoes. She was feeling very nervous...too nervous. She had never say with Logan as close as this, never had she...at least, not as Edna. And Edna was definitely not Hallie, not until now.
"You look very nervous." Jacob commented and she let out a croaked laugh.
"Not really." She murmured.
"Don't worry, you are part of family now. You should sit comfortably." He said and she nodded.
"Don't take to his advice." Logan said, only to her hearing and she shot him a dangerous glare.
"You also keep your advice to yourself." She smirked.
"We can say they are getting along better, can't we?" Tom said with a smile and she scoffed lightly. He was smiling here when he never did at home. Hallie really had a lot on her plate. She had a jerk for a father and was going to get married to a greater asshole. At least, those were the only problems in her life until she murdered someone.
After faking unnecessary smiles and laughter for an hour, Edna felt suffocated. Her stomach was a little bit protruded as she had focused on her food instead of listening to lies and whatnots. It was easier that way, she only chipped in when it was something related to her career.
She wriggled uncomfortably in her chair, as her cloth was getting a little bit too tight.
"Shit, I shouldn't have eaten that much." She muttered underneath her breath and Logan glaced at her subtly.
"I and Hallie would like to go up to my room." He said and everyone turned to them.
"You and me?" Hallie pointed to herself.
"Don't you want to see how my room looks like? We would soon be getting married. You better familiarize yourself with everything here." Logan smiled and she blinked. What stupid game was he playing right now?
"That would be fantabulous." Tom looked satisfied and Edna could swear that was the happiest she'd seem him, ever since she entered Hallie's body.
"I can see you are already getting to love yourself." Jacob complimented.
Love?
As if!
She would never fall for a pompous, mentally deranged guy like this.
Logan smiled again and stood up, walking to her back to remove the chair for her. She fisted her hands as she got up from the chair, following his lead to the room.
Gray's eyes pierced her back. She knew cos he would be the only one not happy about this. He knew that Hallie didn't like Logan.
Once in, Logan stopped the calm character and closed the door roughly behind her.
"You can take your clothes off." He said and her brows shot up to the sky.
"Are you crazy?" She asked and Logan raised a brow, seeming to ask 'Why?'
Why, her foot. Why not?!
He was definitely out of his mind, taking her from the dining room and bringing her into his room, for...for what...to undress? If he thought he was smart, she will teach him otherwise. One wrong move and she will commit a murder here. Fvck revenge!
"You called me in here to take off my clothes? How does that sound to you?" She folded her hands, a disgusted look resting on her face. Logan was ....eeew.
He sat on the bed slowly, his eyes not breaking from her once, a smirk playing on his lips.
Say more, Edna.
Say more and get the hell out of the room.
But she stood, the words on the tip of her tongue but not coming out. She was standing above him and he was looking up at her. Reverse positions was funny because in reality, she would be the one looking up at him like that.
"So...." He started, raising the brow higher. Edna wanted to slap that brow out of his face but she refrained from that and just concentrated on winning the gazing competition between them.
"You are not going to undress?" He asked and she scoffed again.
"No." She said with finality.
"Let me get something straight, Hallie." His eyes were still fixed. "If I need you to undress, I'll get you to do that. But unfortunately, you are not the kind of girl I'll like to see on my bed."
Inferiority complex stepped in at that moment. Who wouldn't like Hallie Torre, even Edna herself fell the hell for her shape. She was tall, slim and beautiful, plus rich, popular and highly loved. She was fvcking lovable and the kind of woman everyone would want on their bed. But what, Logan....he is mentally deranged.
"So what kind of woman do you love?" She asked.
Logan stared at her for a long time, his tongue swiping over his lips in a very seductive manner, "Edna Young."
