Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: Shadows of the Past

Ochieng stepped out of the grand chamber, the echoes of the Seven Titans' voices fading behind him. The air outside was crisp, carrying the distant scent of the ocean, but his mind was elsewhere—trapped in the web of deception he had just walked into.

He knew the truth now. The Seven Titans weren't allies. They were obstacles.

And obstacles?

They were meant to be broken.

As he descended the marble steps, a familiar figure leaned against a sleek black car, arms crossed, her dark eyes watching him with unreadable intent.

Magdalene.

Her presence was like a storm on the horizon—silent, brooding, but full of chaos waiting to be unleashed.

"You made quite the statement in there," she mused, pushing off the car and stepping toward him. Her leather jacket clung to her, the moonlight catching the sharp angles of her face.

Ochieng didn't stop walking. "Did you expect anything less?"

She smirked. "No. But I expected you to leave with more than just warnings."

He halted, turning to face her. "I left with something better—fear."

Her eyes flickered with something dangerous. Admiration? Amusement? It was hard to tell with Magdalene.

"Fear can be useful. Until it turns into hate."

Ochieng chuckled. "Hate only fuels my fire."

A beat of silence stretched between them before she tilted her head slightly. "There's someone who wants to see you."

Ochieng's gaze darkened. "Who?"

She hesitated. And Magdalene never hesitated.

"Your past."

The words hit like a dagger to the ribs.

For a moment, just a moment, Ochieng felt the pull of memories he had buried deep—shadows of betrayal, whispers of pain. But he forced them back, locking them away where they belonged.

He exhaled slowly, his fingers curling into fists. "Take me to them."

Magdalene didn't question him. She simply slid into the car, the engine purring to life.

As Ochieng settled into the seat, he knew one thing for certain—whatever waited for him at the end of this road…

It wouldn't end in peace.

It would end in blood.
