Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 – One Bullet, One Throne

The gun sat between them.

A single bullet.

A single choice.

The Phantom King leaned back, his smirk never fading.

"Come on, Ochieng. Let's see if you've still got that killer instinct."

Ochieng's fingers brushed over the cold steel.

The club was silent.

Every eye was on them.

A single wrong move—and blood would paint the floor.

---

Ochieng picked up the gun, spinning the barrel lazily.

Click. Click. Click.

"Let me guess," he said. "You think I'll take the shot?"

The Phantom King's grin widened.

"I think you'll do exactly what I want."

Ochieng's grip tightened.

There was something wrong here.

Something too easy.

Then he saw it.

The Phantom King's fingers tapping the table in a rhythm.

A silent signal.

Ochieng's mind sharpened.

A trap.

The moment he pulled the trigger—they would move.

A dozen hidden guns. A pre-planned execution.

He wasn't here for a duel.

He was here to be eliminated.

---

Ochieng's lips curved into a slow, dangerous smile.

He lifted the gun—

And turned it around.

Sliding it across the table.

The Phantom King's smirk faltered.

"What's wrong?" Ochieng said. "Afraid to take your own shot?"

The room tensed.

Ochieng leaned forward.

"You called me here thinking I'd play by your rules," he said softly.

"But I don't play games. I end them."

The Phantom King's eyes darkened.

Then—BANG!

A gunshot.

But not from the table.

From the balcony above.

---

Chaos Erupts

A sniper.

The bullet ripped through the Phantom King's shoulder.

The club exploded into chaos.

Gunfire. Screams. Bodies hitting the floor.

Ochieng moved.

A chair flipped. A knife sliced through the air.

He caught a gun from a fallen guard—and fired.

Headshot.

Another enemy lunged.

Ochieng spun, kicking the attacker straight into a table.

The Phantom King stumbled back, clutching his wound.

"You… planned this?" he gasped.

Ochieng tilted his head. "You thought I'd come alone?"

The Phantom King's face twisted in rage.

And then—he ran.

Escaping through the back door.

Ochieng started after him—

But then, he heard it.

A low, slow clap.

He turned.

A shadowed figure stood in the chaos.

Watching. Amused.

And Ochieng realized—

The real game had just begun.
