Cold Curse

Varian was looking for Rapunzel after losing her in a dark forest, one that is rumored to have monsters, thinking the two of them could get answers for the scroll, but while searching her, he heard a sound from behind him. He turned around quickly, his breathing sharp with cold sweat over his brow. Out of the shadows, a red-eyed creature with wings, claws and fangs attacked Varian. It had incredible strength and it wasn't long before Varian was cornered by the beast. The alchemist threw an orb at it, which scared it off, but first, in defense, the monster bit Varian's hand before hissing and running into the night. "Ah!" Varian yelled in agony, the burn of the bite was migraine-inducing. Rapunzel found Varian against the tree as he winced and seethed in pain. "Varian! There you are, I was looking for you, it's dangerous to be out in this forest alone, we need to stick together." She told him. "Y-Yeah, I'm know.." He stammered. "Come on, stay close to me, okay?" She said. He softly smiled at her as he slowly followed, struggling to ignore the inflammation from the bite. Soon after walking, the two were below direct moonlight, which triggered something in Varian's bite. The light of the Moon caused the pain to become unbearable and he fell to his knees, rapidly breathing, shivering violently as he shouted. "Varian?! What's wrong??" Rapunzel demanded. "I..I'm not sure, my head is on fire, it hurts, it hurts really bad Princess..." He gasped, "Ahh!" Varian looked back at Rapunzel fearfully, and she saw his eyes were turning red. That was when she noticed the bite and she put it together, he was changing into a monster. "Rapunzel, just go, something is happening to me and I don't know what.." Varian warned. "No! I can't just leave you!" Rapunzel protested. Wings grew out of his back as he enunciated his warning tearfully, "I said, RUN." Rapunzel began backing up as Varian whimpered until the transformation was complete, and the manic look in his crimson eyes made his one desire very clear, BLOOD. He charged at the Princess as she stumbled backward, and he began to absorb Rapunzel's blood while pulling her in a choke hold. "Varian stop!!" She choked out. Varian paused hearing his as his wings shrunk, and he let her go. He looked down at his claws while they retreated and tears swelled in his red eyes. "I..I'm sorry!!" He cried before he sprinted into the night, needing to hide, afraid of what he had become...
