Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The End Of Beginning (2)

*******

He looked at the strange nothingness, an endless ravine of solitude, a gloomy place of blackness known, and the place many people feared about, death.

"Is this.... death?"

He wondered, as he found this place quite comforting to be honest compared to the outside world— it's really in contrast to the expectations and reality that he had and those of many races.

If you think about it....

Death was one of the most known primordial fears of countless species in the universe, regardless of one's own race and beliefs, their social status and rank, even their strength. It's all worthless in the face of death.

They all feared death.

It's also the reason why some races researched and experimented about the ways to extend their own lifespan, they even used some forbidden techniques like sacrificing children to the demonkind, and even playing with death in return for their results of their study in immortality, and some, due to desperation, even held hands with Ethos.

.... Just to achieve immortality.

And even those of Transcendental beings feared death.

Nevertheless, even if they fear it, they still fought until their very bitter end which really makes them noble.

Atleast, that's what the saying was.

Lastly, about me... I also feared it, death.

That's why I was the last one who survived in this universe, like a cockroach almost dying everyday, then I lived just to see the other day, because I feared death the most.

I ran, and desperately hid then, sacrificed my people, and then ran and hid again, then ran and hid again while sacrificing my dear people again, and ran again just to save myself from the glorious fear of death.

However....

They got me good, huh?

I was ambushed when I was attempting to flee from the search of those monstrosities, and they laid a trap to kill me, however, I still managed to kill those who ambushed me.

Despite that, I suffered tremendously leading to my death.

Well, at the very end of the universe, I was the only one left.

21

Being alone, it slowly made me realize....

I was a coward.....

I truly was, and I despised myself for it.

It's also the reason why I fought til the end.

I want to be forgiven, I want to redeem myself from the deaths of my people. I want to apologize for the things that I've done regardless.

That's why, I embraced it..... I embraced death humbly in my last moments.

It's really a deep irony on my part, but that gives me comfort in my last moments.

...I want to be with them....

Gazing at the endless night this time. I just felt myself looking at the various memories that I have.

Those happy moments of my life, the deaths of my people, the techniques that I've learned in years of my fighting, all of it was in my brain, stored and humbly remembered.

As I closed my eyes to live with those memories forever.

When suddenly....

[The Last Resort of the Universe....was completed.]

[You are now in the World of -omitted.]

[Please, be safe, my —omitted.]

He did not hear it.

*************

Unknown Realm, Unknown Location.

".....Where's the.....last survivor..."

The man sitting at the highest chair of the room signifying his power, firmly asked the people looking at him, he gazed at the people of the various races located on the other side of the long oval table.

He wears a long robe that makes him completely unidentifiable yet, his powerful presence overwhelms the people in the gloomy room completely.

He's so powerful that probably, even a flick of his finger can kill one person in that room.

"........"

Yet, after some minutes, the answer he was expecting never appeared.

Many people in that room just shivered at the strength of that person, so they decided to stay silent fearing that they might be notice and bear the wrath of the Evil God.

Tick tock tick tock

The sound of the clock ticking, the heavy breaths, the rustling of the air outside, and small actions sounds like putting your hand to the table was heard instead.

But, there's still no answer.

".....No.... answers....?"

Suddenly, an overwhelming presence immediately weighed into the people of that room.

Some lost their footing and kneeled, some on the other hand, bit their own lips to endure this enormous strength, while some tried to withstand it with their own body and passed out, while some even choked in their own saliva and breath.

Still, no one answered the question.

Well, the exception was that one black gooey-like body, a monstrosity you will only see in horror movies who suddenly step out infront of the oval table.

With its evil grin, vertical snake-like eyes, demonic aura and power that transcends even the people in the room, probably second only to the robed-one.

"Hahaha!"

He suddenly let out a chuckle.

"My lord!"

The gooey-like monstrosity respectfully said to the robed one while kneeling.

He said humbly, "My connection with him suddenly vanished in this universe for some reason, I can't even detect him in this place, or even the planets that he might be hiding in."

"Well, there's a lot of speculations in my mind regarding his disappearance, but there's some kind of energy interfering in my search for him."

"It looks like he's transported to another place, or even— in another universe by some unknown kind of force."

"Moreover, I can't detect the energy I left him for tracking in this universe.

The robed man nodded, then said solemnly.

"The plan was a success, however, we must find that person to be able to achieve that."

"But for now, we must slowly regain our energy for the time being."

All the people in the room nodded to express their agreement. They are exhausted and years of fighting need years of resting too.

"After 5 years however, we will resume our search for him."

"And lastly, it's an order."

The man strongly said to the group of various people looking at him in reverence.

"Dismiss."

He left the chair of the highest position.
