Talent Reborn
Episode 30: The Nomination
A Storm Brewing
Haruto had spent the past few days digging into the Tenshin Research Institute, but information was scarce. Someone had deliberately buried its existence, wiping records clean.
Yet, the patient's words still haunted him.
"The glass room."
A place where human beings were experimented on.
A place that had taken talents… and broken them.
Haruto knew this wasn't over.
But before he could investigate further, something unexpected happened.
A letter arrived at the hospital.
A nomination—
For The International Medical Achievement Award.
And Haruto Aizawa's name was on the list.
A Rising Star
In the doctor's lounge, Ayaka rushed in, holding her phone up.
"Haruto! Have you seen the news?"
Haruto, sipping his coffee, barely looked up. "I assume it's something important."
Ayaka sighed. "You really don't keep up with these things, do you?" She placed her phone on the table, showing him the article.
"Youngest Surgeon in History Nominated for Prestigious Medical Award"
Haruto blinked.
Then frowned.
"…What?"
Ayaka grinned. "You're famous now."
Haruto exhaled, setting his cup down. "I didn't apply for this."
Renji, who had been lounging on the couch, chuckled. "Of course, you didn't. Someone else must have submitted your name. Probably the hospital board."
Haruto rubbed his temple. "Great. More attention."
Ayaka sat beside him, her smile softening. "You should be proud, you know. This is a huge honor."
Haruto hesitated.
But before he could answer, his phone buzzed.
An unknown number.
He picked up.
"Dr. Aizawa," a deep voice greeted. "Congratulations on your nomination."
Haruto's grip tightened on the phone.
"Who is this?"
The voice chuckled.
"Someone who's very interested in your talents."
Haruto's heart pounded.
"I suggest you focus on your career, Doctor," the voice continued smoothly. "Some secrets… are better left buried."
Click.
The call ended.
Haruto sat frozen.
His nomination.
It wasn't just a recognition of his skills.
It was a distraction.
Someone wanted him to stop searching for the truth.
And they were warning him.
A Difficult Choice
That night, Haruto stood on the hospital rooftop, staring at the city lights.
Renji joined him, hands in his coat pockets.
"You look like someone just handed you a death sentence."
Haruto exhaled. "You think I should accept the nomination?"
Renji tilted his head. "Do you want to?"
Haruto didn't answer immediately.
He had never cared for fame. His goal had always been simple—to save lives.
But now, he was being forced into the spotlight.
And worse…
Someone was trying to control him.
Finally, he spoke.
"I don't know."
Renji smirked. "Then take your time. But if someone's trying to keep you in check… you must be on the right path."
Haruto clenched his fists.
He wasn't going to let anyone manipulate him.
Not the hospital board.
Not the shadowy organization.
Not anyone.
If they thought he would stop looking into Tenshin Research Institute—
They were dead wrong.
