Synopsis
A regular guy finds himself inside a novel’s world. Not as the hero. Not as the villain. Just some extra doomed to obscurity. But he won’t accept that. He’ll fight, grow stronger, and carve out his own path. With a system in hand and countless opportunities ahead, he’s ready to flip the script. He would’ve becom an unstoppable powerhouse. Except for the fact that he dies before the story even begins. It wasn’t fate. It wasn’t bad luck. Someone made sure he wouldn’t survive. But here’s the thing about stories, once they start, they don’t stop just because the main character is gone. And sometimes… the forgotten refuse to stay that way. "English is not my first language, so please excuse any mistakes. All characters, events, and places in this novel are purely fictional. Any similarities to real people, places, or events are purely coincidental." "I appreciate any feedback that helps improve the story!"

Chapter 1 – A Star That Once Shone Brightest

Ever had a moment where you look back on your life and wonder "where did it all go wrong?" Because I sure as hell have.

For the past year, that question has haunted me like a ghost.

I wasn't born into hardship. I had a warm bed, decent food, and even a few servants tending to my needs. Life wasn't perfect, but it was comfortable. I could've continued living like that, letting the days pass in quiet resignation. That's what everyone expected me to do.

But I've never believed in fate. Maybe things happen for a reason, but that doesn't mean I have to sit back and let life play out the way it was supposed to.

That mindset is what brought me here.

"Vermaris," the port city of cliffs and ocean. One of the empire's two major trade hubs. And, more importantly, home to something far more dangerous:

A dungeon.

A God-given gift to mankind, or so the temple preaches. A place filled with monsters, mana crystals, and, if you're lucky, legendary equipment. Supposedly, dungeons exist to help warriors rise as champions and achieve glory. That's the official story.

Sounds exciting, doesn't it?

Fight to your heart's content. Find legendary relics. Become famous. Draw the gaze of the gods.

I wish it were that simple.

A dungeon is nothing but a flytrap. It devours half the people who enter. But that doesn't stop the desperate, the greedy, or the foolish. Danger means higher pay, and porters—people like me, who carry supplies—can make a decent living even without wielding a weapon.

Personally, I always thought it was ridiculous. Why risk your life when you can work a normal job? Hell, if I just sold this "ring" on my finger, which I don't even remember getting, I could open a restaurant and live a quiet life.

So that brings us to the present.

Why the hell am I standing inside a dungeon, working as a porter?

It's all because of this.
